Principal’s reportDear parents/carers,
What an interesting term we have had – home learning then the move back to face-to-face, learning but with health guidelines that have an had impact on who is allowed to enter the school grounds to ensure the safety of our students. The support from our school community has been very much appreciated by all at Bligh Park. 2020 is certainly a different year for all of us.
Moving towards Term 3, we will still be operating under the same guidelines for the start of Term 3. The school will be following health guidelines and restricting all non-essential adults on the school grounds. Therefore, the protocols for student drop-off and pick-up will remain the same for Term 3 at this stage.

Gift of appreciation
Thank you once again to the parents/carers
who presented the staff with a wonderful gift in
appreciation of the efforts and support shown
by all the staff during the past few months.
Ms Patterson has been successful in gaining a service transfer appointment to a school closer to her home. She will be leaving us at the end of the term to take up her new position at Jordan Springs. We wish her all the best as she starts another chapter in her teaching career.
We have been very fortunate in obtaining Miss Favell for 5 days per week to continue the teaching and learning program of 3G from the beginning of Term 3.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Miss Cooper and to wish her all the best as she explores the teaching opportunities across the region.
Term 4 staff development day The teaching staff of Bligh Park Public School will participate in extra after hours professional learning sessions relating to an EAfS numeracy project which focuses on working deeply with practices in mathematics during Terms 2 and 3. This training will replace the Term 4 staff development day on Friday 18 December. This change in professional learning will not have an impact on students as they finish their school year on Wednesday 16 December.
Kindergarten enrolments for 2021 We have started taking Kindergarten enrolments for 2021. If you have a child who will be enrolling in Kindergarten for 2021, please assist us by completing an enrolment form.
Forms are available from the office and we ask that you please bring your child’s birth certificate/
passport, immunisation documents and proof of address with you.
If you are aware of a family in the area who has a child who will be enrolling in Kindergarten for 2021, please ask them to contact the school office.
I wish everyone a safe and relaxing holiday and look forward to seeing you all back for another exciting term of learning.
Take care
Joan Westerweller

We ask that students bring a drink bottle filled with water when they attend school.
We have many students who enjoy celebrating their birthday at school, with classmates. To assist us to continue to celebrate these important events and to operate within COVID-19 guidelines, we ask that parents/carers please only provide purchased, packaged treats (no homemade goods) for students when celebrating birthdays at school.
We also request candles be used at home for family celebrations only at the present time and not sent to school. If providing purchased, packaged baked goods, could parents/carers please provide cupcakes rather than whole cakes.
Thank you for your anticipated cooperation.

A friendly reminder…
Please come to school
on time to ensure that our students
do not miss out on valuable learning
time.
We discourage students from bringing valuable or precious belongings to school to avoid the disappointment experienced when these items are lost or broken.
For this reason, any student who brings a mobile phone to school is required to hand it in to the classroom teacher at the beginning of the day for safe keeping. Any other valuable items, such as iPads/tablets or any device that may be used as a communication device, are to be managed in the same manner and are required to be given to the classroom teacher each morning.
It is the student’s responsibility to collect these belongings from the teacher at the end of the day.
