TOP Hibachi Sushi Bar & Lounge is a newly opened bustling neighborhood restaurant in Somers Commons Shopping Center.Embracing an American warmth and personality, this playful juxtaposition reveals a restaurant that is welcoming, accommodating and stylish. A true riff on what is expected or traditional - East or West. Born out of a life-long passion for quality dining and architecture TOP is one of the many fine dining restaurants Owner Andy Lin has built in New York. TOP ups the ante on Japanese dining with its high-energy beat, creativity and playful approach to Japanese-influenced cuisine. The menu boasts a variety of flavorful offerings from the Kitchen, Sushi Bar and Hibachi Room. The beverage program offers a varied cocktail menu of carefully handcrafted and inventive cocktails. A thorough sake collection is available as well as extensive craft beers, liquors and a spirited wine list. When you look at and eat food, you should be focused on the moment there and not on other opinions nor history, food is prepared differently every time, so a new experience will occur in your mouth with each new bite. The theory is also universal. Food is not culturally bound, a person of any race can enjoy pad thai or tacos, just like any person can enjoy a painting. Food is an important part of everyday life, we can choose to appreciate it or not, but it is here and it is an art form. There is just something about the way food is gathered and created making it unique to the chef. It’s called culinary ART for a reason! Is it possible that Labor Day is here, I hope you all had a great summer! The Yorktown Chamber of Commerce is just moving ahead absolutely terrifically and I am so happy to be its President! We have some tremendous announcements coming up in the middle of September that will really make Yorktown more business friendly and help the entire community. I couldn't be more excited to be part of it! We have a lot going on in the next couple of months. Everyone knows that when the flags are up The Yorktown Chamber of Commerce Festival & Street Fair is in full swing and October 9th is just around the corner. We are looking forward to another fantastic day experiencing a hot dog eating contest, open mic, a hula hoop contest and of course all the great vendors that makes our event the absolute best it could possibly be. The Feast of San Gennaro is coming to Yorktown this month. Last year it was a great success. Many businesses did very well from having so many people attend. Another big event the Chamber sponsors is the New Year’s Eve Ball Drop, another venue to really help promote the small businesses in the town.Remember to attend our first post-summer networking meeting at the new Holiday Inn Express & Suites at
2 John Walsh Boulevard in Peekskill on Monday September 19th. Our breakfast networking meeting will take place on Tuesday, October 4 at Frankie & Augie’Z Ristorante in Jefferson Valley. Networking is what it’s all about. Try to attend both of these great opportunities. Please check the calendar in this issue for events scheduled between now and the end of the year. Our Executive Director, Nancy Stingone, is “checking-in” every Thursday, visiting old and new members. Be on the lookout for her or call at 914-245-4599 and set up an appointment. With fall approaching remember to use our oil co-op program and if you need professional legal advice, our Legal Hot Line is there for you.As always, my door is open to all members with any concerns or suggestions.School's open, drive carefully!Eric DiBartolo President

Nancy and Margaret,
I want to share a great experience that Sheri and I had
with our fellow Chamber member, Six Diamonds Tree
Service and Landscaping, Inc.
We met Maria Quezada, one of the owners, at the
recent Monday evening networking meeting at the
Hudson Valley Hospital Center, and after a brief
discussion we decided to ask them to come look at
some trees on our property. We knew one tall maple
tree was dying and others needed severe pruning. The
next day we made an appointment to meet Maria’s
husband, Manuel, the following Saturday morning.
Manuel showed up exactly on time and we walked the
property together. He was very thorough in examining
our trees, answered our questions, and made practical
suggestions. We agreed on the work and the price, and
scheduled the following Thursday for the work to be
done.
Manuel and his crew arrived at 8:00 a.m. as promised,
they worked all day, and finished the job. They did
exactly what he promised, for the price we agreed, and
left the grounds so neat and clean that, except for the
trees where the limb cutting was obvious, one could
not tell that work had been done. The stump had been
ground, all cut wood was removed, and there was no
debris whatsoever. It was such a pleasure to come
home to everything as neat as it was – we have never
had any other tree service do such a professional job,
for a fair price and in such a timely, and well organized
manner.
We highly recommend Six Diamonds to our fellow
Chamber members.
