Worried of running out of petrol every time you get on the roads???
Just Relax!!! Because we are introducing a concept which will increase the thermal efficiency of the engine upto some extent.
By introducing our concept, we are able to increase the temperature of the inlet air by using the concept of a non contact type heat exchanger by utilizing the temperature of exhaust gases.
INTRODUCTIONINTRODUCTION
Minimize the requirements for addition of new complicated parts particularly moving parts.
Minimal interference in the moving parts, mechanisms and control systems.
Maximize the positive effect from operation of strokes of the existing engines.
THE MAIN AIMS OF THE PROJECTTHE MAIN AIMS OF THE PROJECT
Easy to introduce into the vehicle with
minimum cost.
Achieve optimum possible work out
from the vehicle.
It should be eco-friendly (i.e. minimum
pollution).

ADVANTAGESADVANTAGES
Ignition lag time decreases.
Uniform air-fuel mixtures obtained.
Modification is not complicated.
One time investment.
Easily replaceable if damaged.
Cost efficient.
DISADVANTAGESDISADVANTAGES
This concept cannot be applied to Compression
Ignition Engines (diesel engines).
The design and structure of the silencer body
becomes a bit complicated.
Instant result may not be obtained.
A decrease in the efficiency may be observed if
size of the copper tube is not selected properly.
CONCLUSIONSCONCLUSIONS
After performing the tests on the vehicle, and from the observations made, we can conclude that the efficiency does not increase as per the theoretical concept due to the following reasons: Variation in the actual air filter tube size and used copper tube.
Due to improper wounding of copper tube.
Due to the rise in air temperature, the volume of fuel is increased, as a result a rich mixture is obtained.
FUTURE SCOPEFUTURE SCOPE
We are confident that the efficiency would increase if further changes can be carried out in the project. The major research options which are applicable to this project are as follows:
Use copper tube of different size diameter.
Check the Emission and the noise level.
Use of the temperature control device to vary the temperature as desired.
To try different materials to achieve higher heat transfer.
To check the compatibility with other vehicles.
