Hong Kong by nature is a city but when the idea of putting in a creative art hub in west kowloon, people began to wonder if Hong Kong can also be a place of art and creativity.But it would not be easy unless people of Hong Kong realize the importance of tradition but most of these tradition are dying.

Properly the only thing we can still remember of the people working on this...declining industry.

And because of this, anyone will enjoy the sheer physicality of what outdoor has to offerNow a days, few kite makers use silk and bamboo in doing kites. its being replace by ordinary cheap paper and plastic.though it is still popular especially in some areas, it dosent have the appeal of what it is before.

|Idea of kite| Visit China Pan Kite Factory to get an idea of the many shapes seen in Chinese kites (see Resources below). You can also see how the frame holds the silk for each kite.Select straight dried bamboo sticks to create the frame of your kite. The knots should be as far apart as possible.Choose pieces of silk to make your kite. Untreated silk will not work. You should buy treated silk that can be pulled taut with little give. If you are on a budg-et, you can also use plastic trash bags or butcher paper.

|The frame| Create the frame for your kite and begin cutting the silk. If you are using paper, you may want to decorate the paper before you frame it to avoid tears and wrinkles.Attach the silk to the frame by looping the fabric over the bamboo and using a zigzag stitch. The fabric should create a sleeve or tunnel around the frame. Make sure you main-tain a uniform tension while sewing to ensure the fabric is stretched properly. Paper or plastic can be glued.

|Body of dolls|Link the Chinese kite sections using kite or bridle string to connect the bridles together. The bridle is a string that is permanently attached to the frame that has a tow point where the flying or connect-ing string is attached.Decorate the kite using paint or fabric markers. Chinese kites tend to have elaborate designs or lettering, but you can use your imagination.Add more flare to your Chinese kit. Produce sev-eral dragon or centipede rings at once by coiling a 5 cm. piece of bamboo into a pot of the desired diameter. The ends should overlap about 2 cm. Fill the pot with water just below the bamboo. Cover the pot and boil for about 30 minutes. Let the bamboo cool and cut into thin strips. Glue the overlapping ends.

Today, tailors most com-monly create men’s and women’s formalwear suits, jackets and skirts. They are also often used for modify-ing pre-made clothing to fit.

|Types|There are several sub-types of tailors. A custom clothier creates clothing on an individual basis to meet the needs of the customer. A custom dressmaker special-izes in creating custom women’s garments, including dresses, suits and bridal wear. Alterationspecialists restyle or refit gar-ments that have been previ-ously completed. A seamstress is a type of tailor who works on a machine, typically completing seams on machine-made gar-ments. A tailor may specialize in one or more of these sub-types.

For more complex, functional shoes like athletic shoes, other components you need to consider are the midsole and the insert.Sketch the basic look of the shoe design that you are planning. Include all the de-sign details on your sketch, including colors and materi-als to be used.

|Create|Sketch your shoe design bro-ken down into its components. This will help you figure out how the different components will ac-tually be attached to each other during manufacturing. Create technical drawings of your shoe design components, including all the measurements you can think of. Be as detailed as pos-sible with all the components, as your technical drawings will then lead to the production of computer-aided design draw-ings that will be the blueprints of your shoe design.

|Body of dolls|Put together all your shoe design details into a tech-nical pack. This should in-clude all the materials that will be used for each part of the shoe, the colors of your design and all your measurements for each shoe component. Your technical pack is what the factory will require before they produce a prototype or “pullover” based on your shoe design.

Uncle Chan, as he is fondly called, has been in Causeway Bay be-

sides the MTR station selling flour doll for seven years. Everyday without failure, he will set-up his small display racks and place some his flour doll creations for people to see and sometimes adore and waiting to be in the hands of the onlookers.“Sellimng flour dolls is a tough business” he said. “No one seems to be interested in this folk art anymore”, he added. A clear testament that this special crafts is dying.

THe Monkey and the Pig, the King, important characters from “The Emperor’s New Clothes, Chinese cartoon figures and Japanese Manga characters are just some his creations, sculpted by his frail but callused hands. Though the money is too small, he is still happy for what he is doing. “I am creating thousand of dreams”, he said.

|Flour| Make a batch of salt dough. In a large bowl, mix togeth-er a cup of salt and 2 cups white flour. Add 2 tbsp. of buckwheat flour. Start add-ing tepid water to the dry ingredients--about 3/4 of a cup more or less, depend-ing on how much moisture is in the atmosphere. When the mixture forms a ball, sift a little dry flour on a work surface and knead the mix-ture like regular bread dough until it reaches a smooth consistency.

|Color| Color the finished dough by dividing it into smaller, individual balls and adding a different color of food coloring to each. Work food coloring into the dough. If the dough becomes too sticky due to the liquid food coloring, add equal parts salt and flour to it .Cut a 6-inch length of 1/4-inch diameter wood dowel. Begin sculpt-ing the doll at one end of the dowel.

|Body of dolls|Start with the main trunk of the body. The dough should be wrapped around the dowel. Roll a ball of dough for the head, and stick it on the end of the dowel. Use a sculpting tool to blend it to the trunk of the body. Pinch in at the base of the ball with your thumb and index finger to form a neck. Add on arms and legs by rolling small coils and pressing each to the trunk of the body. Use assorted clay sculpting tools to blend the arms and legs to the trunk of the body. The tip of a wood skewer works well for creating the details in the face and de-tailing the hands and feet. Leave the doll on the stand to dry for at least 24 hours.

Now-a- day people prepare playing it throught online and other means.As technology advances, very few can hand caved mahjong pieces. Most of the set in the market for sale and done by machines. For this reason, no more apprenticeship is being of-fered by mahjong manufacturer.

|The Facts|The traditional Mahjong set con-tains 144 tiles. There are four identical groups of tiles comprised of five suits each. The suits and number of tiles for each group are as follows: character suit (9), circle suit (9), bamboo suit (9), wind suit (4) and dragon suit (3). There are also eight flower tiles that round out the set and function as bonus tiles.There are legends saying that Mahjong was invented by Confucius, but these are probably not historically accurate. Howev-er, similar games involving tiles have existed in China since the early 12th century. Some believe that Mahjong evolved out of these

games, but others feel that it actually bears more resemblance to certain Chinese card games. The earliest historical ref-erence to Mahjong in the West was made by American anthro-pologist Stewart Culin in 1895.

|Size|Standard Mahjong tiles are ap-proximately 1 1/2” by 1” by 3/4”. Most Mahjong sets are sold in rectangular boxes the size of a briefcase or sometimes liter-ally in a briefcase. Mahjong can be played on any flat surface and a minimum area of about four square feet is recommended.

|Significance|The three major suits in Mahjong actually represent the copper coins that were used in ancient China. The tiles in the circle suit depict individual coins, the tiles in the bamboo suit de-pict strings of coins and each tile in the character suit rep-resents 10,000 coins. Mahjong is still an important part of Chi-nese culture and is often played at important events such as wed-dings and new year celebrations.

Seal carving used to be a vesser for ones identity, a symbol of your name and who you are. rich people have it to deal with any of their dealings and transactions and even now it is still around.

Seal carvens satisfaction is the smile they put on their customers face after imbedding their identity into a piece of stone, marble or jade.

Though young people prepare to use their signatures it, old people prepares to use the seal, perhaps because of the tradition that goes with it.
