BOARD

Over half the Board members changed in the last 2 years with resulting big changes in committees.

A heavy workload throughout the year with; • coach education very active; • two Championship Regattas and the Coupe in Ireland; • Two crews making it to tenth place in the Olympics and

Sinead Jennings winning silver in LW1x• in-house work on a new strategic plan;• extensive and imaginative work by an ad hoc group

from the Umpires and DE committees in preparation for the Rule change EGM in January

• Two serious disciplinary matters dealt with and one further matter pending

• Re-branding and a new logo

• Women in Sport initiative on the coaching side

• Policy on Photography of minors

• Beginning of Police “Vetting”

• Liaison with ICRF

• Meeting with Senior Team in NRC;

• This was a meeting to make formal contact although we mostly all knew each other. Should be done annually at an early stage of the season.

• There is need for a survey of clubs – membership and facilities. This will be managed by the office and the Branches.

The purpose is to present the real picture of the ACTUAL numbers of people involved in running our clubs. The only membership figures we can show are competitor registrations.

DEVELOPMENT

• There are two VOLUNTEER development officers, John O’Keefe and Mark Wickham, much of whose efforts have been directed to the Dry Row programme.

• The successful re-opening of Sligo Rowing club illustrates the need for enthusiastic coaching members and separately, an administrative structure for a club to get going well.

ADAPTIVE ROWING

• The Board has ordered some adaptive equipment which will be available for use in the branches(See CEO’s report)

• Nearly finished. The final course facilities – start and finish, eight lanes, are now financed and moving forward.
