Some simple guidelines• Consider the audience
• To whom are you communicating, and what are you trying to show?
• Keep it simple, present the most salient data / information
• Create the graphic to match the user’s ability to understand it
• If data are repetitive, keep the graphic the same so the viewer immediately recognizes the patterns
