Scope Of Project

Client organization:

Central Bank Of India, Valpoi

Beneficiaries: Rural people at villages under Valpoi district.

Objective

To satisfy the needs of the client organization (CBI) in the problems faced by them regarding “Non Performing Assets”

To find opportunities to help rural people of Valpoi

To understand the culture and living style of the people of Valpoi

Scope Of Project

Planned– Helping rural people of Valpoi to avail banking facilities– Help to form Joint Liability group in Mauxi village

Actual– Helped bank in reducing the number of NPA– Marketed schemes of CBI to the people– Found opportunity to help market Brahma temple at

Bhramakarmali.

Strategies

Addressed gram panchayat of Mauxi village to explain various schemes of CBI– Land not registered– Understood the need to

form a JLG in the region for availing various schemes

Joint Liability Group

Visited Chorao farmers club to understand its working model

Visited NABARD to get more information regarding JLG

Visited agricultural office at Valpoi. Assured support to farmers if club formed

Meet Mauxi sarpanch Mr. Datta Gawas to seek help in formation of club

Problem Faced

CBI Valpoi was more concerned regarding high NPA rate and wanted us to work on that

Mr. Gawas showed initial interest in the idea but it gradually faded away.

Non Performing Assets

Major part of our work was related to NPA

Visited 100 people in at least 20 villages to inform them regarding their balance payment towards the bank

Reduced the NPA rate

About The Villagers

Poor and low strata people are returning the loan amount. Comparatively richer are indifferent.

Villagers are hardworking However poor, most houses had DTH connections

and music systems Cleanliness of houses was a striking feature Almost every home has one person who is in govt.

Including drivers into our CSR

We have included our CSR vehicle drivers by taking their help wherever required.

They were of great help while we were visiting villagers for reminding them about their loan.

Brahma Temple

Found opportunity of tourist attraction in Brahmakarmali and nearby areas

This will increase employment opportunities for local villagers

Met Mr. Milind Gadgil, member of Brahmadev Devsthaan Seva Samiti

He asked us to make a proposal so that he could show it to the tourism department
