Rev. Mark Lewis
Pastor
Introducing Mr. Watson!
Our new Head of School, Mr. Matthew Watson, spent Sunday and Monday with The Atonement Acad-emy community. Mr. Watson attended a “Meet & Greet” on Sun-day evening, then spent a very full day with us on Monday on the school campus. We appreciate his spend-ing some time with us, and we look forward to meet-ing his entire family soon.
May is Our Lady’s Month!
This Friday we will have our annu-al “May Crowning,” before Mass, so be sure to bring a flower or two to place at the Feet of the Blessed Mother in the Lady Chapel. PTC also will be selling carnations for $1 each beginning at 7 am.
CRUSADER ATHLETICS: Lift-A-Thon!

The deadline to apply for
financial assistance through
the FACTS Grant & Aid assess-
ment service is MAY 15.
You can find the information
located under “Admissions”
on the school website.

Welcome to our Newest
Little Crusader:
Maria Guadalupe Rodriguez
Join us in celebrating the “Cinco de Mayo” birth of Maria Guadalupe to faculty member Casandra Trevino Rodriguez and her husband Isaac! Also welcoming baby is grandmother Mrs. Susana Trevino and the entire Trevino family! Mrs. Rodriguez’s 3rd grade class has been praying for a healthy baby, and from the looks of this sweet child, prayers have been answered, thanks be to God!
If you are a professional photographer
and/or videographer
and have some time
and talent to donate,
we need your help!
We have a couple of
needs right now:
1. We need a short video (maybe 30-35
seconds) highlighting key aspects of our
school. This will be the keystone piece of
our new website. With only a few weeks left
to shoot the footage, this should happen as
soon as possible.
2. We need engaging photos of our students and
teachers as well as our spiritual and learning
environment. We had a generous donation of
200+ images about five years ago, but those
photos are now quite
dated! As with the
video above, the pho-
tography needs to occur
now, while school is in
session!
Our development direc-
tor, Amy Nieto, has been working on a new
website for us with eCatholic.com. If you have
the interest, expertise, and time to be of assis-
tance with donations of your photographic or
videographic skills, please contact her for more
information at anieto@atonementonline.com

Need A Driver! With my work situation, I hire someone to pick up and take my sons Ro-man & Ryan to school Tuesday – Friday mornings. For this service, I currently pay $50/week or $200/month. I currently have a college stu-dent that does this for me but her schedule will be changing for the fall and she will no longer be able to assist...I was wondering if there were any high school students or families in the neighborhood that would be interested in this offer. I’m good for the rest of this school year but defi-nitely would need help when school starts in the fall. If you are interest-ed in discussing this with me, contact me at Bobbie B. Peña, Phone 210-345-4824 or email bobbie.pena@valero.com

All are invited to our final Parish Music Series event of the season, Choral Evensong for the Easter Season at 4:00pm on Sunday, May 12 at Our Lady of the Atone-ment Catholic Church. The Texas Children’s Choir, under the direction of Dr. Thomas Hardaway and Mrs. Bethany Hill, will be the guest choir and perform works by Bach, Brahms, and Hardaway. choristers. A reception will follow in the library.
Thank You,
San Antonio Quilting Guild!
Each year, the San
Antonio Quilting
Guild provides us
with boxes of lovely
handmade quilts
that go along with a wide variety of children’s liter-
ature. They also provide accompanying lessons. Fea-
tured above are kindred who enjoyed touching a rec-
reation of a quilt made from the story Luka’s Quilt by
Georgia Guback. This quilt and many others have
been borrowed from the San Antonio Quilting Guild
and serve as a popular lesson for our younger stu-
dents. We are very appreciative of their efforts!
