• Edmodo is a micro-blogging site with the look and feel of Facebook, but is private.

• Geared toward facilitating classes, assignments, calendars, discussions and more.

• Edmodo has more than 6.5 million users (Trust, 2012).

• It is used both to manage classes for teachers as well as a part of a Professional Learning Network (PLN) for individuals.
