Creating Spooky Text

Create a new document that is 11x 8.5 inches

To create a background, set your colors to black and white (default)

Click Filter > Render > Difference Clouds

Use the following font “Broadway Copyist Text”

Double Click on your type layer to open the Layer Style Panel

Apply an Outer Glow (make sure the values are the same)

Apply a Drop Shadow (make sure the values are the same)

Your Text will look like this

Apply a Gaussian Blur

Click Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur

Photoshop will ask you to rasterize the layer click “Rastertize”

Blur your text like below (I used 9.0 Pixels)

Duplicate your type layer by hitting Cmd+J

Select the top layer the you just duplicated and press Cmd+I to invert the colors

In the layers panel, Sset the layer blending mode to “Multiply”

And you are done! Save as a Jpeg and name the file “Spooky Text”
