MESSAGE FROM LINDSAY WALZFounder/Executive Director
Over the last two years, courageous heARTS has created a unique space for self-care and healing, inspiring young and old alike with a mission that speaks straight to the heart. We've shown what can happen when young people are offered the opportunity to be co-creators of their spaces. We've created meaningful opportunities for young people to express themselves through art, both individually and collectively. We've built a community of young artists that support each other's growth, encourage exploration, challenge the status quo, and are already making positive changes in their community.
These past two years have been some of the proudest of my life. courageous heARTS is the culmination of a lifetime of dreaming. I have been envisioning this space since I was 16 years old-- the dream grew as I grew. Now it's real-- but the dreaming hasn't ended. There is so much possibility held within our walls and I am eager to see what 2015 will bring!
You are one of our co-creators, because without you none of this work would be possible. Your support of the young hearts we serve is what made this dream come true.
Keep us dreaming!

TESTIMONIALS
The final outcome of the whole project was really fun and it was a cool experience to be able to connect with teens, and see how different, but also similar our lives are because we all fight for something, it just might not all be the same thing.
-Isabella D., Youth Advisory Board
Courageous heARTS changes lives. Maybe not in the giant, disease-curing ways that people think of when they hear that phrase, but in smaller forms. It’s a place that empowers you, and teaches you new talents and passions that you can take with you wherever you go.
Antonia L., Youth Advisory Board
I started to see that other people could be genuinely good because Lindsay was just such a kind person without having ulterior motives. I met a lot of people there that I wouldn’t of met otherwise and I met other people just like Lindsay who are just nice because that’s just how they were, for example the beading instructors and the other members of the Youth Advisory Board.
-Emma S., Youth Advisory Board
My favorite part of heARTS is the overall energy and atmosphere! I always get excited when I walk into the space and kind of long for it when I’m not there, especially when I have been away for a long period of time.
