TECHNOLOGIES

Active Core Alignment (ACA) The aim of ACA is to achieve the best IL values, i.e. minimising thefiber eccentricity to the ferrule outer diameter as well as achieving aperfectly aligned exit angle. As part of this ACA process, the metallicend face of the two-component ferrule is shaped in such a way onone side that the material deformation causes the fiber core to moveto the middle of the ferrule central axis in a controlled manner.

PS (Power Solution)For its Power Solution (PS) connections, DIAMOND makes use ofvarious beam expansion methods (Expanded Beam, short EB) whichcan vary greatly depending on the scope of application. The mostimportant PS types are as follows: PS Collimated (Contact), PSf FreeSpace (Diverging), PSb Ball Lens (Expanded Beam), PSl Lensed(Focused).

Polarisation Maintaining (PM)Diamond PM connectors are renowned for their exceptional perform-ance. VIS / NIR Low wavelengthsMany applications in biomedicine, metrology, laser technology orscanners work with wavelengths in the (near) visual field VIS / NIR.These wavelengths often require very small fiber cores.Using Diamond Active Core Alignment (ACA) technology, excellentlow IL performances can be achieved even with the smallest fiberdiameters.
