Connect, Empower and Transform!

Generation Peace Advocacy Plan for 2012-2013

Objectives of the Session

• Understanding and Unity on our Strategy

• Knowledge on doing the strategy well

• Well presented plans: for ourselves and for broader network

In my community, the voices of youth calling for peace are heard;

and issues raised are addressed

As a whole, the GenPeace represents a broad youth voice for peace in our country

We have effectively engaged our government, policy makers, other actors and institutions to

influence their policies and practice on Peace in our country

we have an effective GenPeace leadership structure that ensures efficient support to the

whole network especially supporting local activities

How effective were we in our previous advocacy work?

Various advocacy activities were done; strategic theory of change (impact objectives) not clear; need to reflect on sustainability (strategic follow through)

Established regional connection and established network (organizational expression), developed capacities and they somehow made actions

Created widespread connection in key areas (Were our voices heard? How effective?)

What worked and what did not work? (part 1)

What are the more effective strategies?

- networking with the youth

- capacity building; empowerment

Where can we improve on?

- sustainability of our work, networking and commitment

- specific programs with specific impacts

- broaden reach and sustain connection

What worked and what did not work? (part 2)

What are the more effective strategies?

Where can we improve on?

- exponential impact of capacity building thru ToT
