How to activate participant’s eHR account and build indefinite sharing consent?

Before enrolling in the Colorectal Cancer Screening Pilot Programme, the participant should go through the following procedures related to eHRSS:1. Register in eHRSS2. Activate the eHR account at the PCD clinic if the

registration was not done in person3. Build indefinite sharing consent

If (2) and (3) have not yet been completed, (2) and (3) can be done at the same time in the eHRSS platform (see slides 3-16)

If only (3) has not yet been completed, (3) can be done in CRC IT System (see slides 17-19)

Step 1

Participant comes into the clinic and inserts HKIC into card reader under CRC IT System attempting to enrol in the Pilot ProgrammeIf the participant has already registered with eHRSS, but account not yet activated, a pop-up message will be displayed on screen

Step 2

To activate account, go to the eHRSS menu bar, click “Healthcare Recipient” under “Administration”

Ask participant to insert HKIC into the card reader, then click “Next” button

From this step onward, for cases requiring manual input (eg. HKIC chip failure), please refer to slide 11 to 16

Select sex of participant

Click “confirm”

Obtain sharing consent (for sharing clinical information kept in eHRSS) from participant by clicking the radio-button for “Indefinite Sharing Consent”Click “Next”

NoteOnly the “Indefinite Sharing Consent” option will be allowed for enrolling in the Pilot Programme in order to promote the continuity of care

Confirm participant’s detailsClick “Next”Click “Submit”, a pop-up reminder message will be displayedClick “Yes” when the participant has acknowledged understanding the Participant Information Notice of the eHRSS

After confirming the details, click “Print Notification Letter” to confirm eHR account activation and sharing consent built

The participant is now ready for enrolling in the Pilot Programme
