COIN TARGET TOSS K-‐3 – Coin Recognition/Values
How to Play: Print the circles on heavy cardstock, cut, and laminate. Place the circles on the floor and make a starting line using tape on the floor, 3-‐6 feet away from the circle, depending on the skill level. The circles serve as targets for students to toss coins at. Give students a basket of assorted coins to toss. Students try to toss the coin to the correct target (toss dimes to the 10 Cent circle, etc). After all children have had a turn, count the number of coins that were tossed to each target. On a white board, make a graph to show how many quarters, nickels, pennies and dimes were tossed to each target. For a variation, only count the coins that landed on the target. Advanced students can count the total of the change.
