Feedback from staff…Feedback from staff…

“Before Clickers, people would not share or ask questions because they felt they were the only one with the financial problem. When the class sees results of some of the ice breaker questions about financial situations, they ask lots of questions knowing that everyone in the class has huge credit card debt.”

-- Madelyn Ridgeway

ImpactImpact• Increased attentiveness, discussion and

… learning!

• Higher rate of interest and participation

• Instructor reinforcement and feedback tool

Best PracticesBest Practices• Label each clicker and receiver

• Break the Ice– Introduce the Student Response System– Use an “ice breaker” slide at the beginning– Have students practice using clickers to become comfortable with technology

• Prompt– Differentiate between content slides and interactive slides with visual cue– Use a “Correct Answer” object to visually identify appropriate answer

• Mix it Up– Break up the content delivery by inserting interactive slides among

content slides to keep audience engaged and check understanding– Use a variety of interactive slides– Use comparison slides to track pre/post changes

• Do not keep participant lists with personal or demographic information

• Do not tie SRS devices to individuals

Avoid Human Subjects compliance issues…
