CCEMS is a public safety department that provides pre-hospital care for the entire County of Cleveland.This includes 911 Paramedic Services, Specialty Care Transport and Quick Response Vehicles located throughout Cleveland County.

To provide a superior patient care system that seeks to provide equal employment

RT Certification is obtained through the Office of the State Fire Marshall.

All employees, full and part-time, are required to obtain RT Certification within 3 years of hire date.

RT Certification consists of 11 classes that are offered through CCC.

HazMat SMAT (State Medical

Assistance Team) USAR (Urban Search

and Rescue) IMT (Incident

Management Team) Swift Water SAR (Search and

Rescue)

Many of CCEMS employees are on Specialty Teams. Our teams are dispatched within the county to assist on Hazmat incidents, Search and Rescue mission, etc and also in other counties statewide to assist them with their needs.

CCEMS participates in various public relation projects along with other agencies. Some of these include:

• Safety Town

•Kid Tips

•Andy the Ambulance

The purpose of these programs are to educate the youth of Cleveland County on such topics as bicycle safety, fire safety, stranger danger, and to present children with an opportunity to see various equipment and how it is used so it may lessen their fears if they were to need assistance from EMS.

You will be required to have a high school diploma or GED.

You must have a valid NC driver License in good standing.

You must be able to pass a 10th grade math and comprehension test along with TABE* test with are provided free of charge to you through CCC.

* The TABE test evaluates your reading and math abilities.
