MATERIAL OF CHINESE BRONZE & BRASS WARE

Bronze is an alloy of copper and a variety of other

elements such as tin, metals, and lead. Bronze ware

can be found in many ancient civilizations. Copper

by itself, is too soft to make tools of, and tin is too

brittle it breaks too easily. But if you mix a little tin

in the copper, it becomes bronze, which is much

harder and at the same time less brittle. +
