Project Summary:Central is the oldest high school in the state of Minnesota, beginning its 150th year. Its rich traditions, including academic excellence, are widely celebrated. Families prize the high value we place on academics; the varied extracurricular opportunities; our culture of constant innovation; and our focus on relationships as the center for learning.

It was originally constructed in 1912 at 188,000 square feet. A later addition was completed in 1925 and a major renovation was completed in 1977. It is now 340,641 square feet.

The plans in this document are not comprehensive of the entire building’s needs as maintenance and replacement of existing building systems such as roofs and mechanical systems are omitted to maintain graphic clarity of the overall vision generated during the Facilities Master Plan Process.

Formal zoning reviews have not been undertaken for the proposed work shown in these plans. A review with zoning and building code authorities will occur once the funding is secured.
