Darren Strong from Strong Chiropractic, announces a new, sophisticated computerized decompressiontable that allows the spine to be gently stretched andrelaxed for spinal decompression therapy. The pattern of alternating pulling andrelaxing creates vacuum-like pressurewhich allows disc material that washerniated or protruded to be pulledback in the disc over time. Patients will notice a reduction of theirpain during these treatment sessions. Stopin today and ask about the newtable and how you can benefit.

The Miners' First Noel (IV) This Dec. 28th, The Miners First Noel (IV) returns to St. Andrew'sChurch in Sydney Mines. Last year's sold old event was a hugesuccess, and with an expanded "all star" cast this year, it prom-ises to be an even better show. The idea of The Miners' First Noel series of concerts stemmedfrom the song of the same name that Bob Quinn composed forthe Barra MacNeils. It is a key piece in the group's Christmasrepertoire and is exemplary of the theme of the production, asthe concert celebrates the history and talent of the town of SydneyMines. Producer, Bob Quinn says the whole cast is proud oftheir Cape Breton roots and love coming together for this specialevent. "We all feel it's important to salute the character and his-tory of our little town while giving its citizens a gift of music forthe holidays". This year will see a return of the core Sydney Mines castmembers. Bob will be joined by members of the Barra MacNeils– Stewart and Lucy, who will be fresh off their big Canadian Na-tional Christmas tour. They will also perform with Lucy's twodaughters, Amelia and Kenna and husband Rob, who are allblessed with the family gene pool of talent. Kate Quinn, will return and perform with mother, Jennifer - ahometown favourite. Kate was a big surprise hit in past year'sconcerts and is married to world-class musician, Matt MacIssacwho will also be in the show. Matt is a true musician's musician.A world class piper, he also is fluent on whistles and flutes andplays snare, guitar and percussion when the opportunities arise. This year's production introduces another highly talented singer/guitarist, Grant Eisan as featured special guest. "He is incred-ible," says Bob, "and will amaze the audience who have yet tosee him perform". This year's event truly is a "family affair" as it brings five wellknow 'Quinns' together. Although not directly related to the otherQuinn brood, Tony and daughter, Shannon (btw - North Sydneyroots) are popular across the globe and have recently returnedfrom performances in Ireland. Bob says that it is always a plea-sure to play with Tony and Shannon and we were lucky this yearthat our schedules allowed for such a rare and wonderful oppor-tunity Shannon has become world class and her travels haveher performing with top artists all over.. "Every year we continueto grow as musical friends", says Bob "and every show bringsdeeper understanding and a more polished and rewarding perfor-mance." Rounding out this stellar cast is home town young ladies,Cameron and Mackenzie Clarke who have appeared in pastshows and are a true delight. They bring humour and charm tothe production and once again, reinforce the family theme that isso prevalent throughout this show. As was the case last year, the cast team up with the adminis-trative staff of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church to bring the an-nual special to the beautiful old church. St. Andrews has be-come a favourite theatrical venue for many shows. The churchgets to financially benefit from the concert as well as share thebeauty and character of their grand old venue with many of thelocal community and first time attendees. This year's show will include many new songs as well as sea-sonal favourites and is designed to be fun, emotional, and mean-ingful for all ages. We all look forward to the gift of music from these talented friendswho share their home-town pride through this professional pro-duction "The Miner's First Noel (IV)" * Hint – Get your tickets early.

The spirit of the season is in full gear and Stoked forthe Holidays is ready for another year of celebratingyouth culture and independent music in the Cape BretonRegional Municipality. With the '12 Bands of Christmas'encompassing a variety of different musical styles andperformance backgrounds, the annual event givesmusic lovers young and old and opportunity to see across section of the musical dynamic of our commu-nity. Since the first 'Stoked', the event has been a stapleof the local music scene and has seen bands such asRock Ranger, Carleton Stone (of Port Cities),Slowcoaster, Sprag Session, Carmen Townsend, GregMacPherson, and The Lighthouse Choir hit the stageamongst dozens of other performers.
