DESCRIPTION

Carlos Escolástico's portfolio. He still keeps photographs done with an artistic proposal taken when he was 10 and he started studying photography when he was 20. After that he kept on taking pictures for the next 15 years while working in different things such as furniture assembler, waiter and as a travel guide where he had developed a passion for traveling photography. Always from a particular point of view: In his photographs no monuments, landscapes or nature are seen. Everything captured through his lens are people. Since 2003 he has been doing professional photography work, mainly as a freelance press photographer and has also developed a career as an artistic photographer, focused on portrait and human expressionism, which led him to exhibit in several cities around Spain. He claims to be influenced not only by great masters as Cartier-Bresson, Avedon or Diane Arbus but by the police records' hardness or the photo-booth coldness.
