ANNYSALILIS HANDAYANI SEPTI SAHIDAYANTIPUTRI PRATIWI
What is action research?Action research as an enquiry, undertaken with rigour and understanding so as to constantly refine practice
THE DEVELOPMENT OF ACTION RESEARCH:A BRIEF BACKGROUNDZeichner (2001) points out that most of the action research carried represented the rejection of a standards or objective-based approach to curriculum development in favour of one that is based on a pedagogy driven conception of curriculum change as a process dependent on teachers capacities for reflection.
What is Involved in Action Research? There are three models that is involved by action research:
self reflective spiral Elliot model O Learys model and Mscintyres
Some Definition of Action Research Involve researching your own practiceIs emergent Is participatory Constructs theory from practiceIs situation-basedCan be useful in problem solving
Deals with individual or group with a common purpose of improving practiceIs about improvementInvolve analysis, reflection and evaluationFacilitates change through enquiry.
Research can be as specific context or situation;Researchers can be participants and they dont need to take something distant and detached from the situation itselfWhat are the Advantages of Action Research?
Action research involves continuous evaluation and modifications can be made as the project progressesThere are opportunities for theory to emerge from the research rather than always follow a previously formulated theory The study can lead to open-ended outcomesThe researchers bring a story to life.
The Limitations of Action ResearchAction research is sometimes described as a soft option by some, so the researcher needs to define the parameters of study at the start.
Action Research in Teaching and Learning
Action research and action learning are parallel processes that enable teacher and students to work in tandem to accomplish effective learning process.
THE CRAFT OF TEACHING: Organizing and Facilitating Students Learning
Objective/Outcomes Standards Procedures AssessmentMaterials
THE COMPLEXITIES OF TEACHING AND LEARNING Students characteristics and capabilitiesWhat is to be learned : Domains of Knowledge
ACTION RESEARCH IN TEACHING Used to investigate specific issues or problems associated with classroom or school life. There are three steps to investigate the problems and issues: Look Think Act
ACTION LEARNING FOR STUDENTS Action learning enables students to apply active learning process to any area of the curriculum-reeading,writing,mathematics,social studies science and so on.
ACTION RESEARCH AND ACTION LEARNING: PARALLEL PROCESS
APPLYING ACTION RESEARCH TO PHASE OF INSTRUCTION
