● Further liberalise shipping services in the region

Challenges:
• ASEAN ship-owners to engage in the
domestic shipping within each other’s
territory
• Cabotage policies of nations within ASEAN
pose challenges to ASSM
• Need for ASEAN states opening up
domestic shipping similar to those in the
early days of EU
• Need of an ASEAN cabotage agreement
