The first thing to ever be referred to as a computer was the “abacus”. It was invented in the year 700 and was used for the longest time and still is in some countries.

Konrad Zuse invented the Z3 in 1938. The Z3 is a “computer based around electromechanical rays”

The term “bug” is used to say that there is a glitch in the hardware. Engineer had to get rid of the “bugs”. Thus, the term “debug” was born. To “debug” is to get rid of all the glitches within the hardware of an engine.

The Internet began in 1960 when packet-switching networks came into operation.

The majority of the creation of the internet was created by Robert Taylor, Leonard Kleinrock, and J.C.R. Licklider.

The first Internet was a set of interconnected Military computers. It told them who they were being attacked by so they could attack back.

It was invented in 1871 by Charles Babbage a British computing pioneer.

It was the first fully automatic calculating machine.

Babbage’s Analytical Engine is a mechanical digital computer that foreshadowed modern-day computers.

In 1890, Hollerith invented the tabulating machine to tally the results of some recorded information for the 1890 U.S. Census.

It reduced the time of taking the census from 10 years to 3 months.

The ENIAC (Electrical Numerical Integrater and Calculator) was invented in 1946 by John Mauchly and John Presper Eckert.

It was built for the military, because they needed a computer for calculating artiller-firing tables.

It was built at the University of Pennsylvania’s Moore School of Elecrical Engineering.

A program is a set of coded instructions that enables a machine, especially a computer, to perform a desired sequence of operations.

One transistor replaced many tubes, making computers smaller, less expensive, and more reliable.

In 1972 researchers from California State University led by Bill Pentz built a microcomputer using Intel’s 8008 microprocessor.

The binary system only has 2 digits: 0 and 1. Every number expressed in this system is expressed in a a combination of these digits.

All communication within the computer uses the binary system.
