Wehaveatremendousopportunitytobuildresilienceinourcommunity.Currently,Mini-TippingPointgrantsareavailabletoeitherfuelwhatisalreadyhappeningorallowyoutodevelopyourownlocalprojectsthatcreatepathwaystogood,safeexperiencesforcommunities.Theprojectmustimproveyourcommunityinpositiveways.

BuncombeCountyisworkingtogiveourcommunityastrongfoundationbysupportinginitiativesthatbuildresiliency.Ifweworktogetherwecancreateastronger,safer,moreresilientcommunity.

ThepeopleofBuncombeCountyarealreadyresilient.Whenthingsgettough,wesupportoneanotherandtipthebalancetowardpositiveoutcomes.Itislikeascalewithnegativeweightsononesideandpositiveweightsontheother.

Whenthepositivesoutweighthenegatives,youaretippingtowardsbeingresilient.Positivesupportcancomefrommanydifferentsourcesincludingyourfamily,friends,faith,andfromwithin.

Itcanmeanreachingouttothosearoundyouthatneedhelp,oracceptingthehelpof

others.Itcanlooklikeacommunitygardenoritcansoundlikeachoirsinging.Itcanfeellikeliftingupandseeingclearly.

Resiliencyissupportedwhenstrongpublicstructuresareinplacethathelppreventharm,andhelppeoplethrive.Justlikeinvestinginroadsandhighwaystomaketravelsafer,itiscriticaltoinvestinsupportsthathelpcommunitiescometogethertotackleseriousissues.

Likeapowergrid,manypartnerscometogethertobuildtheresourcegrid,andultimately,communitiescanfillouttheirowngridofresourceswithunique,communitybasedsolutionstouniquechallenges.
