Please help to ensure the safety of our students and kindly avoid using the school parking lot as a pick-up and drop-off for your child. The parking lot becomes very congested in the morning and after school with school buses and teachers arriving and departing. Please do not walk through the parking lot as this may lead to children developing a false sense of safety. Also, please do not park in the staff parking lot as we have only a limited number of parking spots available for staff. We encourage all families who live within the school area to walk their children to school. While this may mean waking up a little earlier in the morning, it will also help to foster a daily routine of exercise which is vital for a child’s development. A limited number of Temporary Parking Passes are now available for parents or guests who are taking part in a school activity or meeting (not for dropping off students). Please be sure to request a pass when signing in at the office. Thank you very much for your cooperation!

Golden Garbage Can Award
Thank you everyone for your support. We collected old cell phones from our classmates, their families and the
whole school with the help from the Eco Club at Brimwood.
We submitted several phones into the Toronto Zoo draw for special prizes. The draw will take place in a week.
Cross your fingers!
But we will keep collecting, so chant with us:
Save gorilla habitat;
Support Toronto Zoo;
Recycle old cell phones;
It's all up to you!
On Friday, April 12, 2019 the grade 6 students from Mrs.Tassopoulos’, Mrs.O’Neill’s, and Madame Cane’s classes went on a really fun trip to Monarch Park Stadium along with numerous other grade 6 students from different TDSB schools. When we got inside the dome, there was a lesson about the history of the dome. Here is a fun fact: Did you know the dome cost about $5 million to construct? After he was done speaking, there was a former astronaut who had a presentation about space. Some things the astronaut spoke about included the first picture of a black hole, how you should re-enter earth safely, rocket ships and their engines, and the physics formula for HSC. The grade 6 students later got into groups where some students were from other TDSB schools and some from our school. There was a yellow group and a blue group. The grade 6 students went to several centres according to their groups to learn something about space or flight. Some things the grade 6’s learned were how astronauts felt in space, how far each planet is from us, how astronauts eat their food, things about the Mars rover, and gravity. For some of the centres, there were experiments. These experiments included the grade 6's spinning in a chair and touching the top of a pencil, making paper airplanes, having a small container full of water and putting in a small tablet, and a race where you control the robots to not hit obstacles. The grade 6’s also got to see a small rocket launch in the dome twice. Overall, we learned a lot of new things and it was fabulous! Written by
