Barmer (Rajasthan) (UNI)In a signal to Pakistan, IAF on Thurs-day carried out a landing operationfor fighter jets and a C130J transportaircraft with two Union ministers onboard on a highway in Barmer closeto the border.

Nineteen other such highways arebeing developed as emergency land-ing strips for military planes as partof enhancing the country’s securitypreparedness.

Su-30 MKI and Jaguar fighter jetsof the Indian Air Force landed at thestrip on National Highway-925A be-tween Barmer and Jalore.

Inaugurating the EmergencyLanding Facility, Defence MinisterRajnath Singh said India is fully pre-pared to protect its territory.

Singh, who was accompanied byRoad Transport and Highways Minis-ter Nitin Gadkari and Indian AirForce chief R K S Bhadauria, said thelanding was smooth and lauded theefforts of IAF and National HighwaysAuthority of India (NHAI).

“We got the opportunity to landon this strip in a C130J. We had a verysmooth landing. IAF chief also toldus it is a good landing strip. You musthave seen cars, carts, scooters onroads, today we are seeing an air-plane on the road,” the Defence Min-ister said.

New Delhi (UNI)The Election Commission (ECI) ofIndia on Thursday announced theby-elections for six Rajya Sabha seatsin five different States.

By-elections to one each seat inWest Bengal, Assam, MadhyaPradesh, Maharashtra , and two inTamil Nadu will take place on Octo-ber 4 and counting will be held onthe same day, the poll panel said onThursday.

The seats had fallen vacant by theresignation of Manas Ranjan Bhunia(West Bengal) , Biswajit Daimary (As-sam) KP Munusamy and R Vaith-ilingam ( Tamil Nadu) and Thaawarc-hand Gehlot (Madhya Pradesh),while the Maharashtra seat due tothe death of Rajeev Satav.

“The notification will be issued onSeptember 15. The last date of mak-ing the nomination is September22,” the Commission said in a state-ment.

The last date of withdrawal ofcandidature is September 27.

The poll panel has also an-nounced Rajya Sabha polls for a seatin Puducherry, polling for which willbe held along with the five States.The seat would be vacated with theretirement of MP N Gokulakrishnanon October 6. Meanwhile, the Com-mission has also announced by-elec-tions to Bihar Legislative council onone seat, which had fallen vacantdue to the demise of JDU leader Tan-veer Akhtar.

Higher Education MinisterDr. Mohan Yadav said that there willbe 100% attendance of academicand non-teaching staff in all collegesand universities. Classes will be con-ducted with 50 percent attendanceof students. Dr. Yadav informed thatit will be mandatory for the academ-ic and non-educational staff and stu-dents of the college to submit thecertificate of first dose vaccination ofCovid-19.

The minister has directed to carryout practical and academic work byforming separate groups on the basisof safety standards of Covid-19 ateach level in case of high student

numbers. He said that the concernedinstitutions would be bound to takemajor decisions in this regard in thecontext of the availability of infra-structure and the local situation. Hesaid that online classes will also con-tinue to be conducted by the educa-tional institutions. Dr. Yadav has giv-en instructions to prepare separatetime-tables for offline and onlineclasses by the educational institu-tions.

Hostels and mess will also bestarted in universities and colleges.Hostels will be started in a phasedmanner.

In the first phase, hostels will beopened for the students of final yearof graduation and third semester ofpostgraduate.

Social distancing, sanitizationand thermal screening of all studentswill be ensured in the hostel premis-es. There will be continuous moni-toring of the cleanliness of the dininghall, kitchen, bathroom and toilet.

The hostel facility will be avail-able to the student only on the basisof the declaration form of the stu-dents and the written consent of theparents/guardians.

The important coordinationmeeting of the Rashtriya Swayamse-vak Sangh was held on 8 Septemberin Nagpur.

In this five-day meeting, apartfrom reviewing the Narendra Modigovernment at the Center and thegovernments of the BJP-ruled states,the work of the organization was alsoreviewed.

According to sources, BJP’s Na-

tional Organization General Secre-tary BL Santosh, National Co-Orga-nization Minister Shiv Prakash, VSatish and Saudan Singh also partic-ipated in this meeting.

This was the second importantmeeting of the Sangh since March2021. Dattatreya Hosabale took overas the new Sarkaryavah in March2021. The coordination meeting ofthe Sangh and its affiliated organiza-tions is held annually at the nationallevel.

Apart from this, the union also or-ganizes such coordination meetingarea and province wise.

The main purpose of these meet-ings is to coordinate among all theaffiliated organizations of the unionas well as to review and expand theirwork with regard to the action plan.The Narendra Modi government hascompleted 2 years at the Centre.

Election strategy of five states preparedin Sangh coordination meeting

Gaurav JoshiMandsaur: The identity of the an-cient and historical religious city ofDashpur is also due to the statue ofthe only unique grand two-facedLord Ganesha in the country. Thisrare statue located at GanapatiChowk, Jankupura belongs to StoneAge, the form of this uniquepanoramic statue of Ganapatistanding seven feet high is verybeautiful and artistic. The front sideof the statue is in Panchasundi formand the back side represents theposture of Shresthi (Seth).

There is a figure wearing a turbanlike Seth on the head and a bandi onthe body, the rituals of worshipingboth the front and back faces are al-so different. Many visitors comefrom far and wide to see this uniquestatue.

Known as Shri Dwimukhi Chin-taharan Ganapati, the known histo-ry of this statue is about 90 yearsold. Although the stone Aura Man-dal of the statue displays the excel-lent and best form of ancient craft,

in this sense the history of the statuecan also be ancient.

The place of appearance of thestatue is situated on the hill of Na-har Sayyid Dargah.

Local resident Moolchand Swar-nakar realized the presence of thestatue at this place in his dream, thisis not a legend but a clear fact. Toconfirm the dream, when Moolc-hand Swarnakar went to that placeand saw, this dream visioner statueburied in stones was visible in frontof him.

Moolchand Swarnakar receivedan inspirational order to install thestatue on Ashadh Sudi Panchamidate 22 June 1929 in Sawant 1986.He carried forward this unique stat-ue with classical rituals on AshadhSudi 10 Vikram Samvat 1986 by tak-ing it out of the stones and placing itin a bullock cart with pomp.

According to the statements offellow people of that time, this idolof two-faced Ganesha was beingtaken by bullock cart to be installedat a suitable place in Narsinghpura

area. Since at that time it was an easy

way to go from Jankupura toMadarpura to reach Narsinghpura,so it was decided to take the bullockcart from Jankupura. The bullockcart stopped at Jankupura at theplace where there is a two-facedChintaharan Ganesha temple. Earli-er this place was known by the pop-ular name Ilagi Chowk which hasnow come into vogue as GanapatiChowk.

Due to this temple, this name be-came popular, as it was decided totake the idol to Narsinghpura,therefore a lot of effort was made tomove the bullock cart, but even af-ter lakhs of efforts, the bullock cartdid not move even an inch.

Considering the wish of LordGanesha as paramount, the idol wasduly established on the second dayi.e. on Ekadashi by the Dharmalu-jans, since then this place is knownas Ganapati Chowk. The faces ofboth the sides of this two-faced stat-ue reveal different forms and ex-pressions.

The front face has five trunks andthe rear face has a trunk and a tur-ban is worn on the head, which rep-resents Lord Ganesha in the form ofShrestidhara Seth.

Later on, with the leadership ofthe great people of Jankupura areaand with the cooperation of thetownspeople, the temple was givena systematic and organized grandlook, at present this temple has be-come the center of faith of the reli-

gious people of the entire region notonly in the city.

Every Wednesday evening MahaAarti is held here. The idols of otherdeities are also installed in the tem-ple.

According to the mention ofDharmashastra, the idol is believedto be related to the five elements. Thefront face, which has five trunks, iscalled Ganesha, the obstacle.

The direction of the five trunks ison the left, the trunk of the rear faceis in the right direction, which iscalled Sankat Mochan Ganeshji. It isbelieved that the wishes of the visi-tors who come to Shri DwimukhiGanapati temple are fulfilled.

Visitors come from far and wideto see such a wonderful statue andwish for their wishes to be fulfilled.On the tenth day of Ganeshotsav,special worship is done here, MahaAarti is done every day and variousreligious events are also held. MahaAarti is also organized everyWednesday night at 7.30 pmthroughout the year.

New Delhi (UNI)Chairing the 13th BRICS Leaders’Summit, Prime Minister NarendraModi on Thursday said that in thelast 15 years since the grouping’s for-mation it has achieved a lot and be-come an influential voice for emerg-ing economies of the world.

In his opening remarks at thesummit held in virtual format, Modisaid that India has received full co-operation from all BRICS partners -Brazil, Russia, China and SouthAfrica- during its chairship, and ex-pressed gratitude for that.

He said that despite the Covid sit-uation affecting the world over thepast year, over 150 meetings andevents of the grouping were organ-ised. These included over 20 ministe-rial-level meetings.

“We will have to ensure thatBRICS yields more results ahead”, hesaid, adding that the theme of to-day’s summit ‘BRICS@15: Intra-BRICS cooperation for continuity,consolidation and consensus’, re-flects this priority. He said the fourCs will become pillars of the BRICS

partnership.He said BRICS achieved many

firsts under India’s chairship. “Ourwater resources ministers will meetin the BRICS format for the first timein November this year,” he said,adding that the grouping also organ-ised the first digital summit in thepast year. He said the BRICS Allianceon Green Tourism is another newinitiative started under India’s chair-ship. The grouping also adopted theBRICS Counter-Terrorism Action

Plan, he said, adding that the spaceagencies of the five countries areworking together in remote sensingsatellite constellations.

Modi said that intra-BRICS tradewill get easier with better coopera-tion between the customs depart-ments of the five countries.

“BRICS has started several strongorganizations like the New Develop-ment Bank, the Contingency ReserveArrangement and Energy ResearchCooperation Platform,” he added.

SC refuses change ofcentre for NEET-PGexaminationNew Delhi: The Supreme Court onThursday refused to hear a plea seek-ing permission to change the centerfor the National Entrance and Eligi-bility Test (NEET) PG 2021.

The petitioner doctors had re-quested the National Board of Exam-ination (NBE) to issue guidelines onholding the examination till thechange of examination center is per-mitted.

A division bench of Justice UdayUmesh Lalit, Justice S Ravindra Bhatand Justice Bela M Trivedi dismissedthe petition saying that the situationin the country is improving and mi-nor travel restrictions remain inplace.

The court rejected the argumentsof senior advocate Meenakshi Arora,appearing for the petitioners, inwhich she had said that there is acontinuous increase in the cases ofcorona in Kerala and other parts ofthe country.

Justice Lalit said that now the situ-ation of Corona has changed. Flightsbetween the two destinations havebecome regular.

Not only this, vaccination has in-creased and the severity of cases hasdecreased.
