BLUETOOTH HOTSPOTHotspot generally refers to small areas of

intense or important activity.

A technology which allows Bluetooth enabled mobiles to access the internet.

No need of GPRS connection in mobiles.

WHY BLUETOOTH HOTSPOT?Specially designed for mobile devices.

Provides internet access to Multiple devices.

Secure by using user authentication.

Free of Cost and No complexity.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTSServer side:

Operating System: windows XP, 7 and VistaMinimum RAM 512 MB Internet Connection

Client side:

Bluetooth Enabled Cell phone

Hardware Required:Bluetooth Dongle/Adapter at server sideVersion 2.0 or next Version

IMPLEMENTATION

Server side softwareDesigned in Java.Acts as gateway between client Bluetooth

devices and the Internet Server.Controlled by Hotspot manager. Centralized database.

IMPLEMENTATION

Client side softwareDesigned in J2ME.Executed on Bluetooth devices (client ).Contains the user registration form for security.Feeds the URL of required web page to the

server.Displays the web page on the client device.

MODULESThe Project is divided into 4 main modules

Detection and Pairing of devices.

Sending client program to appropriate device

Server program to manage clients and their request.

Client program to control the connecting of device to the server, send URL and display web pages.

PROCEDUREServer sends the file to client device through Bluetooth.

PROCEDUREThe URL is then sent to Internet server.

PROCEDUREThe web page is then sent to the Bluetooth Device.

The client program opens the web page for client to read.

PROCEDURE

Time taken to fetch a web page will be very less for mobile client(around 15 sec).

ADVANTAGES

ADVANTAGESWill provide Free surfing of Web to

Multiple Mobile Users. Least complexity and secure.

Very less Installation cost of server.

DISADVANTAGESClient can see the web pages in text

only format.

High Battery consumption.

Bluetooth signal is Environment dependent.

APPLICATIONSRailway stations, malls and airport to

access internet.

It can be used For advertising Purpose.

It can be used in the colleges to give any news or notice.

CONCLUSION

It can be used where Wi-Fi cannot be implemented.

Provides fast internet access.

It can be further improved to support POST data request.
