What is Block Scheduling?

Block Scheduling is a mechanism by which available hearing dates are

limited to a predetermined number of hearing slots.

When do I use Block Scheduling?

Block Scheduling is used in Chapter 13 cases ONLY by the filing parties on ECF in conjunction with the following matters:• Debtor Objection on Trustee’s Motion to Dismiss• Trustee’s Objection to Confirmation of Plan/Amended Plan• Objection to Relief from Stay (with or without Abandonment)• Trustee’s Objection to Debtor’s Claim of Exemptions • Trustee’s Objection to Motion to Modify Plan Post-Confirmation• Response to Objection to Claim(s)• Trustee’s Objection

Block Scheduling will not activate if any of the following exist:• Case is not a Chapter 13 case• Refusal to waive hearing requirement• Debtor has prior dismissal• Corrected motion filed.

When Do I Use Block Scheduling?

After filing a document using an event specified for block scheduling, you will automatically be directed to an event

that allows you to select a hearing date.

Notice of Electronic Filing & Appearance on

DocketThe Block Scheduling event generates a hearing notice

for the case manager to issue. The docket entry will appear as a private entry until the notice is issued. Also be sure to make a note that you will not receive a Notice of Electronic Filing until the case manager has issued the

hearing notice.

At the end of filing an event that triggers Block Scheduling you will see some blue text and a Next box to continue to Block Scheduling. Click the Next box.

Be sure to choose the correct time from the drop down box and select Next.

Once you have verified that docket text is correct. Select Next.

When you receive the Notice of Electronic Filing, you have completed your block scheduling.

When Do I Use Block Scheduling.

The Block Scheduling event can also be found by going through the Bankruptcy Menu in CM/ECF.
