Owl house in winter. Notice the size of the

opening.

In winter, visits by the Pileated woodpecker

began.

All winter the Pileated Woodpecker drilled. This was

taken in March 2011.

The owl house opening was much larger after being drilled by the Pileated

woodpecker.

All through the spring, the Pileated Woodpecker was drumming to establish territory. The owl house provided a way for him to be really LOUD.

Here is a close up of the Pileated Woodpecker. See him blink his eyes?

The hummingbird feeders were busy all summer long.
