The key to any successful project is to start right and stay right.

Initial project excavations.

Footings for the walkways and courtyard walls.

Showing the curved, unconventional nature of the building.

Surveyed marks on top of the footings gave the center of stem wall. That combined with radius points allowed the

precise location of the building foundation walls.

All the cooling ducts and most of the electrical work is located under the building.

There are no square corners and very few straight lines.

Placement of the forms and adequate bracing provided for precision and accuracy in the amphitheater wall

construction.

The building foundation is complete. The care and accuracy taken in the stem wall placement makes the block

masons job easier.

Staging block for the masons to begin. The mechanical is underground as well as the electrical and plumbing.

Maintaining plumb and level going up is the only way to lay block on a radius wall.

There are a few short, straight lines, but not many ~ most are

decorative.

Because the flow of water is towards the building, catch basins and daylight drains had to be placed in strategic locations throughout the courtyard and around the building for flood control. Precise

survey was required.

Roughly 70% of the floors inside the building are sealed

concrete with radiant floor heating.
