playground.
At this time of year, I am reminded of how brilliant a team we have here at Bethany. I would particularly like to thank our volunteers who come and serve the school. We couldn’t accom-plish all that we do without you! We had a volunteer’s afternoon tea at 1pm this Wednesday, in the Function Room, to say thank you to our volunteers for their efforts in 2016. This was followed from 2-3pm with our final awards assembly. Students received their academic reports and were dismissed at 3:10pm.
Our Year 6 graduation on Tuesday night celebrated the success we have seen over many years in the lives of our students. We are very excited to see how they have grown in to young adults and are proud of the way they have applied themselves over the time they have been with us here at Bethany. We also wish them well as they move on to further their education.
Wednesday is the last day of school, but OSHC open Thursday this week. Please refer to our website to register.
Each year we have some staffing chang-es within our school.
We will farewell Ms Sally MacPherson who has been working with our Junior Primary students in computing. We also farewell Ms Melissa Warren who is mov-ing interstate with her family. We have really appreciated the years of service both of these teachers have given to our school. We also have two staff leaving temporarily with the impending births
Welcome to our final Newsletter for 2016. Our transition visits this Monday went extremely well and the students were very excited to meet their teacher for 2017. I have attached the teacher roles for 2017 to this newsletter for your infor-mation. We welcome new families to Bethany and it was wonderful to have our new Reception students last Friday. They were very settled and it was lovely to see their excitement as they were finally able to play on the Junior Primary
of their children. We wish them all well in their future endeavours.
We welcome some new staff, Ms Ame-lia Burfield in Year 1, Ms Rachel Looi in Adaptive Education and Mr Scott Sheeky in Year 6.
School returns on Monday 6th February.
I wish you a blessed Christmas and a peaceful and safe and happy New Year.
God bless,Wendy Matear
