The designers will read a range of Jill Murphy stories and write their own story in the style of Jill Murphy and using the same characters and setting.
Information Texts – Poster The designers will create an information poster on what they find out about Africa to help people wanting to travel there.
Shape Poems The designers will research the artist Mondrian and write a poem based on one of his famous artworks.

HS! Measuring
Designers will learn how to tell the time to o’clock and half past the hour. They will use vocabulary related to time to solve problems. They will learn how to draw the hands on an analogue clock and order events according to time.
Problem Solving Designers will learn how to solve multiplication problems using arrays. They will also learn how to share amounts equally.
Positioning As part of their travel brochure the designers will learn how to use a compass and map when learning about Africa.

The designers will continue to research about the 4 seasons and create a class display that changes. The designers will write information pages which include; location on map, continents and oceans, comparison to the UK, physical and human features of the country. Designers will also focus on a village in Africa and (small area) create map of local area with compass directions.
Art Designers will create illustrations for their posters. Designers will also re-create artwork in the style of Mondrian.
Computing Designers will use the internet to research Africa and our local environment and to contact other people from around the world. Designers will also use the programme Dazzle to re-create artist in the style of Mondrian.
French Designers will create a travel brochure for tourists wanting to travel to France.
RE We will learn about the Christian festival of Easter.
