Jajce – the town of stone, light and water, a royal town and open air museum – is built on the confluence of two great rivers – the Pliva and the Vrbas. Around Jajce you can find the

beautiful bigger and smaller Pliva lakes, both equipped with water mills. The most

recognizable symbol of Jajce is its magnificient 17 meter high waterfall situated in the town

center. It make Jajce unique place in the world. 

Museum of AVNOJ. On November 29th 1943, was held

the second sesson of the Antifascist Council of National

Liberation of Yugoslavia.

Austro-Hungarian comlex. Finance Building, the

building of the old primary school and Sarač hause

represents the architecture of the 19th century. 

The Franciscan monastery of St. Luke. The bones of the last

Bosnian king, Stjepan Tomašević is treasured in the monastery, in

a glass sarcophagus.

Esma Sultana's Mosque.  It was built  in 1750 by

princess Esma, the daughter of the sultan and the wife of the bosnian governor. 

Okić and Dizdar (woman's) Mosque. Both mosques are built in

bosnian arhitecture style. They date from Ottoman Empire period:

17th and early 19th century. 

Omer bey's and Kršlak's house. They are  typical example of Jajce

residental architecture. Both houses have cobbled courtyard

and stone basins. 

Waterfall. River Pliva rises near Jajce and forms Pliva

lakes. River continues its way to the town center and forms

a 17 meters high waterfall.

Mithreum temple. The oldest monument in Jajce. It dates from the early 4th century

what  witness remains found in the temple.  

St. Mary's Church with St. Luke's tower. On the 17th of

November 1461 the last Bosnian king Stjepan Tomašević was

crowned in this Church.

Fortess. Situated 470 m above the sea level in the medieval part the town. Fortress was built by the

duke Hrvoje V. H

Catacombs – Underground church. This unique arhitectual building was carved in rock as ordered by duke H.V. Hrvatinić during the late 14th century.  

 Jajce is one of the few preserved ensembles with all the features of the fifteenth centuries urban

centers: Fortress, ramparts, towers, bastions and gates.
