At Arlington Place….
We eat ice cream…. Have you noticed ice cream happens a lot at Arlington? Every Friday, in the summer,
we like to get together and socialize around a bowl of ice cream! Join us
anytime!
We celebrate each other! Arlington Place hosted our
annual Mother’s and Others Tea Party
for Mother’s Day
and had a Mustache
themed Father’s Day Grill out.
Our doors are always open! If you are interested in learning more about life at Arlington Place, stop in or contact me for a tour.
Arlington Place has an opening in our respite apartment. Are you looking for a place for your loved one for a short period of time? Our respite program is ideal for caregivers who are out of town, a spouse in the hospital, or someone who needs
additional recuperation after a hospital stay. Briget Meyer·Community Relations Coordinator

We enjoy summer! With summer comes the opportunity to get outside and grab lots
of sunshine and fresh air.

are always striving to
roll out the red carpet
for our residents and
offer them the health
care service in the
most convenient ways.
We are very excited to announce that
Arlington Place is partnering with Northern
Iowa Therapy. Northern Iowa Therapy will be
in the building 5 days a week to offer occupa-
tional, physical and speech therapy to our
residents and the community per appoint-
ments. For the month of July they are offer-

What do you need to
know about our July calen-
dar? New to the calendar
are our social chats in
honor of our resident,
Clarence Henze. Clarence
said his favorite time of the
day is getting together with
others and just talking, so we are going to
make a point to converse! Do you have
something you want to see happening at
Arlington Place? Let me know, I will make it
happen.
We have had two matinee movies and they
have been a hit so we are going to move our
Arlington Place movie nights to movie days. If
you find you are missing those Friday
evening movies, speak up and we will put on
a show. We will be joining in the Felix Grundy
festivities this year. We will be going to the
spelling bee, if you want to participate, we will
practice throughout the week. Briget Meyer is
creating and coordinating a wonderful oppor-
tunity for us to participate in the parade. You
can join her or you can join me on the side-
lines and wave as they go by.
Where will be going in July? In honor of the
fast food chain’s birthday, We are going to
Wendy’s followed by a trip to Dollar Tree on
July 2nd. We are going to learn about Aman-
da Grineski’s Globetrotting adventures at
Kling Memorial Library. We love to take the
bus out, so keep checking your calendars!
As always, I make the calendar for all of
our residents, so let me know what you want
to do!

We have had a lot of
fun cooking adventures
as of late and we have
no intentions of putting
our adventurous pallets
on the back burner for
July! We will be explor-
ing the differences of a slushy and a
smoothie. This will, of course, include a
taste testing to be sure we understand!
We will be celebrating malt day with
some old fashioned malts while we test
our wits with Lenah and play a game of
name that tune! We are going to throw
in a hot dog bar to celebrate chili dog
day. Have you heard of a Chicago dog?
What toppings can go on a hotdog? If
you can think of it, we will have it! Lastly,
in honor of Hawaiian Day, we will throw
in a Hawaiian luau.

The gardens are looking better with
the sun and rain we have been get-
ting. We are closer to getting replace-
ments for the flowers we lost and the
tree in the north section. I am in the
process of making a planter in the
concrete square where the electrical
box use to be.
Precision Lawncare just sprayed for dandilions and
clovers again. We have a couple of exciting projects
coming up in our gardens so stayed tuned! As always
if you have any questions or concerns let me know. -
