The three Programme Elements of ARTES Applications: objectives
ARTES 3-4 Satcom Applications (part of ARTES 3-4) Develop and validate applications and services making use of Satcom Typically supplier/industry driven ARTES 20 Integrated Applications Promotion Study, develop and validate integrated space applications (at least two space assets) for pre-operational services Typically user driven ARTES 21 Sub-Element 2C SAT-AIS Applications/ Services Supports the definition and development of new applications and services utilising satellite based AIS (Automatic Identification System) Data Applications and service providers driven

ARTES 3-4 Satcom Applications (part of ARTES 3-4) - Newcomers Initiative (small project) - Study Activity for Satcom Applications (study to prepare for a project) - Satcom Applications project ARTES 20 Integrated Applications Promotion - Feasibility Studies (open competition or direct submission) - Demonstration Projects (mostly in direct submission) ARTES 21 Sub-Element 2C SAT-AIS Applications/ Services - Activities relevant for the design, development, integration, deployment and validation of new applications/services, which makes use of satellite based AIS data

ARTES 21 2C Call for Ideas
The Agency will admit for evaluation only proposals from proponents - be it as Prime or Subcontractor - resides in any of those states that subscribe to the ARTES-21 Sub-Element 2C (so far Belgium, Denmark, Ireland and the United Kingdom).
