HOME AUTOMATION

Facilities Included In The Project:

Block Diagram :

IR sensor

Temperature sensor

PIR motion Sensor

ARDUINO UNO

Display Module

GSM Shield

Buzzer

AC load control

5

Arduino:

Arduino is open source platform in both software and hardware, so it is easy to configure and understand.

6

IR Sensors:

An infrared (IR) sensor is an

electronic device that

radiates or locates infrared

radiation to sense some part

of its surroundings. They are

undetectable to human eyes.

7

Temperature Sensors:

LM35DS18B20

8

PIR Motion Sensors:

Moving objects of similar

temperature to the background

but different surface

characteristics may also have a

different infrared emission

pattern, and thus sometimes

trigger the detector.

9

Display Modules:

LCD (20×4) 2.4 inch TFT shield

10

Relay Module:

3 channel 5V relay has been used to

control AC load. As there are 3

channel so 3 AC load can control.

11

Wireless Control Technology:

Bluetooth Module:

HC-06 Bluetooth Module Base plate Part of Module

12

GSM Shield:

GSM is a cellular network, which

means that cell phones connect to it by

searching for cells in the immediate

vicinity.

13

IR Sensors with Arduino:

For

implementing

visitor counter.

14

Time of timer 1> Time of

timer 2, then the Arduino will

sense the IN case.

Time of timer 2> Time of

timer 1, then the Arduino will

sense the OUT case.

15

Temperature Sensors with Arduino: For sensing

temperature of the

room.

16

PIR Sensors with Arduino:

PIR Sensor

Buzzer

For detecting motion.

17

LCD (20×4) with Arduino:

18

Relay Module with Arduino:

6 For controlling AC

load by Arduino .

19

GSM Shield with Arduino:

The peak current of the SIM900 module may

reach up to 2A. External power supply via the

barrel connector is recommended because it

provides sufficient power to the shield.

Without the external power supply, the

SIM900 module may lock up or suffer from

unexpected reset.

20

Practical View: Automation part of the

project.

21

Remote control part of the project

The room temperature is 40.57 degree Celsius

Conclusion:

The thesis is studied about sophisticated control over home appliances

from home as well as from outside using GSM technique.

A system is developed to integrate different facilities such as visitor

counter, light-fan automation, temperature monitoring, and intruder

alarm with a unique controller device named Arduino UNO.

24

Instead of IR sensor of short range long range IR sensor can use which

make the project more flexible.

Variation of fan speed with temperature can be done.

Integrate the whole project with one Arduino.

Also add the fire alarm and intruder alarm facilities.

Make remote control of home load with 3G network along with the

integration of mobile apps to make it usable in the smart phone.
