April 2013 Volume 36
Dear Subscribers,
The big story this month was the Enterprise Connect 2013 Conference. We had the chance to talk to a large
number of vendors, and covered the event in an extensive three part wrap up. The first article, co-written with
Dimension Data Principal Consultant David Danto, covered the conference sessions. The remaining articles
broke up our vendor coverage first taking on Cisco, Vidyo, Polycom, Smart, TelyHD, BlueJeans, Vidtel, and
Yorktel, and then following up with Magor, Zoom, StarLeaf, AGT, PanaCast, Nexistant, ClearOne, Logitech and
LifeSize.
With Enterprise Connect behind us, we are gearing up for the American Telemedicine Association conference
in Austin, Texas May 5th -7th. The conference brings together 250 exhibitors and a projected 6,000+
attendees. Telepresence Options readers can use the code "TPOATA" to save $50 off a Full Conference
Pass.
Reminder: The next issue of Telepresence Options Magazine will be printed in
late April and put into the mail on May 1st for delivery to 100+ countries this year.

Greetings from Orlando and the 2013 Enterprise Connect
conference. If you recall, this is the conference formerly
known as VoiceCon - where there were so many exhibitors
fixated on video that they had to change the name. Enterprise
Connect 2013 was a blast. It may not be the biggest tech
show on the planet, but it is
by far the largest and most
successful event focused specifically on visual collaboration, and it is
growing every year. This year's show was a massive success, with standing
room only (time for a bigger venue?) for several of the conference sessions
and great activity on the showroom floor.

Notes From NAB 2013 April 10, 2013 | Telepresence Options
Story and Images by David Danto / Danto.info
Greetings from the 2013 National Association of Broadcasters Conference in Las
Vegas. As I mentioned in last year's show wrap-up this is still really a conference in
search of a definition. Although heavily attended (90K are expected this year) it is
more like watching a "Battlestar Galactica Ragtag Colonial Fleet" than a cohesive
assembly of focused exhibitors and attendees. The theme of the show is
"Metamorphosis", which really seems more like a fervent aspiration than a
statement of fact.
