The scanware TRACK & TRACE STATION LYNX-SIGNUM HR is a high-performance unit that combines printing and inspection tasks in the pharmaceutical packaging process. It can be used to print and inspect various packaging, such as cartons, labels, blisters, sachets and much more.

It covers the current regulations on labelling and inspection, such as in France (CIP 13), Turkey (ITS), Italy (Bolino) and Belgium (Royal Vignette Belge).

The inspection station can be updated at any time to allow for the implementation of current and future regulations as in Brazil or ePedigree in California. There is a wide range of installation versions and options.

Intuitive operation with a single visualisation

All of the inspection station’s functions can be intuitively con-trolled with a single visualisation, depending on the version. The camera, printer, label and list management and control of the standalone inspection station are all integrated into the simple, user-friendly control concept. Easily understand-able dialogues and input screens help the user to carry out tasks quickly.

Options for printers and complete stations

The scanware system solution LYNX-SIGNUM HR allows the integration of various printer types and brands. In addi-tion to the most common solutions with Wolke or APS HP cartridges, it is also possible to use, for example, laser print-ers, labelling systems using UV inks and digital printers on request.

The scanware system solution is also flexible when select-ing a standalone station with conveyor belt and eject station. In addition to OCS and Exmore, units from other manufac-turers can also be offered as a complete solu tion on request.

Receiving and sending data

Serialisation and batch data can easily be transferred from an external database to the station and vice versa, due to the interfaces provided in the software. The data simply has to be generated in common formats, such as XML files or CSV files, for example. The software’s flexibility enables data transfer with systems such as SAP or WERUM. In addition to external batches, data can also be easily generated within the system through centralised manual entry at the terminal.

The LYNX-SIGNUM HR camera system forms the core of the inspection process. This is a high-performance greyscale vision system used as a complete solution for the verification of readable data through OCR or OCV and for reading com-mon 1D (barcodes) and 2D codes (e. g. DataMatrix) that ap-pear on packaging materials in the current packaging process. Sound technology and flexibility are the basis for the design.

In OCR mode, many patterns can be programmed to each character.The large number of patterns does not, however, prolong the evaluation time!

Detailed information can be called up for each pattern. Individual patterns can be deleted here without having to reprogram the font!

An unknown character or pattern can be programmed to an existing font at any time. In this way, a library with one font can be continually expanded

List functions

All functions required for the management of variable and batch data are carried out via list management.

▪ Importing external data

This is possible via network or a USB memory stick. Through the network, it is also possible to individually import data, including serialisation numbers, in closed lists or in real-time dialogue with an external system (e. g. SAP) directly to both the printer and camera.

▪ Managing the data as lists

The data lists provided in list management can be called up at any time and sent to the printer and camera.

▪ Exporting data as lists

The data displayed here can be exported from the station back to an external data source in list form. There is also a delete function for data that has already been exported.

Statistical and recording functions are also included in list management. Statistics for each individual list provide exact information on the processing status, including the number of data sets that were read well or poorly.

The exact recording of the test result for each individual data record in a list provides a detailed image so that precise bal-ancing can be made using both functions. Thus, the reporting required in Turkey and Italy is possible for each individual serial number or vignette using simple methods.
