Printmaking things to know…
Printmaking allows you to create repeated images
Each one called an edition
Most artists label their work with name, title, and edition number
This allows people to buy artwork for less money
The first edition is the most valuable and limited edition prints are also more expensive
Prints come out in reverse
A proof is a practice print
Each time you complete the process of
making a new image from your block, that
is called “pulling” a print
The better the paper, the better the print
Ink is permanent
Being organized and as clean as possible
will help!
Safety is critical!!
