• $2.1 Million over 3 years from the U.S. Department of Education
• Goals focus on fitness, nutrition, and obesity prevention

Grant Goals
• 60 minutes of activity daily
• Consume 2 fruits and 3 vegetables daily
• Improve Cardiorespiratory fitness levels
2012 Baseline Data
• 46% of students surveyed engaged in 60 minutes of daily activity
• 74% of students surveyed met criteria for age appropriate cardiorespiratory fitness levels
• 43% met criteria for consuming 2 fruits and 3 vegetables per day
2013-2014
ALL FCPS Schools will be participating in the
Federal Grant. We will be reaching 100% of Health
and Physical Education students during the 3 years
of the grant, and working towards sustainability
after 2014.
