Course Title
Leadership and Strategic Analysis (Regular Course/Master Degree)
Course Objectives
Regular course: To provide the necessary tools to express, as directive Officer, an efficient
leadership in all area of responsibility.
Develop knowledge, skills, competence necessary to be a key element
in the directive role of the Armed Force through:
- Studying the importance and use of Air Power competence and Air
Power doctrine in a joint combined scenario.
- Acquisition of expertise to use tools such as “problem
solving and decision making” techniques finalized to build and
solve "projects" of complex activities.
- Acquisition of analysis capacity about the international
relations system, with reference to national strategic goals.
At the end of the course, the student will get a second level master in
“leadership and strategic analysis” at the department of Political Science
and Sociology at the Florence University.
Foreign students, with qualification equivalent to high school diploma, can
only attend the two modules of the area "Political Strategic" and acquire
the corresponding credits.
Master degree: To provide the necessary tools to express, as directive Officer, the
knowledge and skills necessary for a successful integration in the context of
the decision F. A. and, in perspective, in joint and international sector. The
course builds leadership skills, seeking to develop and obtain the maximum
capacity in staff. It provides expertise to the optimization of resource
management, with a view to saving and voltage efficiency and
effectiveness. In addition, the course must:
enhance the expertise in relation to air power and the doctrine of use of
the Air Force, enhancing them in the inter-force and international
context;
develop innovative fields, in the various sectors of expanded interest
(social, economic, industrial, etc.), recognizing the most important
elements for national strategic interests;
develop an appropriate intercultural sensitivity, valuable for the
integration in military-civil level (CIMIC) and indispensable for mutual
understanding and active cooperation with non-governmental
organizations and the state joints too distant from the militar;
develop the ability to analyze the system of international relations, with
reference to national strategic objectives;

and interpreting, analyzing the phenomena that take place on the
international scene, the elements most important aspects involving the
organization and the use of the forces.

Course Title
UPPER FORMATION COURSE FOR MILITARY TEACHERS.
Course Objectives
To provide participants with the methodologies and instruments aimed
at enhancing their ability to implement and support innovative teaching
procedures in a continued improvement framework specifically intended
at developing innovative projects while ensuring the solidity and
continued development of the Air Force.
Objectives are met by developing knowledge and competencies within the
framework of innovative teaching procedures aimed at further
organizational development. In particular, activities aim at developing
professional figures able to implement innovative teaching procedures
which respond to Air Force specific requirements as a function of the
continued growth and changes in our different fields of activity.
The course, besides providing a structured approach to all managerial
aspects of training by illustrating them in a complete, in-depth manner,
focuses on the development and enhancement of some specific
dimensions which may develop, integrate and complete the different
professional figures that make up the Air Force.

COURSE OBJECTIVE To provide the essential theory needed to understand how Air Defence assigned to ASACS
functions, and also to understand the duties and responsibilities of surveillance operators. At
the end of the course the students will have acquired a basic technical operative preparation in
order to work in the operational room in the position of surveillance and be able to start on
the job training practice aimed at the completion of IO and TPO. This course is necessary
for the admission to the “Interceptor Control” course.
COURSE STRUCTURE &
DESCRIPTION The course includes lessons on the theory of following subjects:

Basic training is based on specifically studied simulation which will allow the student to reach the desired level of competence. COURSE NAME INTERCEPTOR CONTROL COURSE
COURSE OBJECTIVE The objectives of the course, in compliance with the STANAG 1183 requirements, are to
provide students with the needed knowledge and ability to control interceptor aircraft in
accordance to the procedures and NATO standards.
COURSE STRUCTURE &
DESCRIPTION The course includes theory on the following subjects:
- Intercepting techniques; - Fighter aircraft and weapons systems management ; - Air and joint tactical doctrine; - Air traffic procedures; - Air combat tactics; - Offensive and defensive air operations; - Electronic warfare systems employment; - AAR (air to air refuelling); - Tactical data link; - Practical sessions. Training is performed by specifically designed practical training events (simulation). The course is divided into two parts: 1^ phase Close Control – 2^ phase AAR Control – 3^
phase Loose Control – 4^ phase Digital Control. The course should be followed by an OJT
phase at an Italian ASACS Unit the duration of which will be a minimum of four months

COURSE NAME TACTICAL CONTROL COURSE
COURSE OBJECTIVE Students will have the theoretical formation and a basic technique to be able to work as a
“Fighter Allocator”, “Weapons Allocator” and “Master Controller” in an Air Defence
integrated with NATO environment, respecting the current standard NATO policy.
COURSE STRUCTURE &
DESCRIPTION The course includes theoretical lessons and practice lessons on the following topics:
- Air strategy;
- Air defence procedures ;
- Missile systems;
- Use of air defence systems;
- Managing air space;
- Tactical data Links ;
- Intelligence;

- Practical sessions (SCENARIO). The course is made up of a 100 hours OJT program at an ASACS Unit for the FA part and of a

The course is divided into 4 modules:
The Mod. Preparatory (MP) ensures uniformity of knowledge to deal
with successive modules All staff have a doctorate in science subjects
will participate in the module that provides the mathematical and
physical basis for the continuation of the course.
The Mod. General Meteorology (MMG) ensures the preparation of
staff in General Meteorology. The module consists in the specific
matters concerning the physical principles and interactions that
regulate the atmosphere, methods of measurement and analysis,
behaviour of weather systems through the use of conceptual models.
The Module AMF (Aeronautical Meteorological Forecaster) is
dedicated to training staff to the Aeronautical Meteorology according
to the dictates; secondly you are given all the necessary knowledge for
the insertion of the staff in their operational use.

Course title TACTICAL DECISION AID
Course objectives
The specialization course for "Tactical Decision Aid" is designed to
provide theoretical knowledge goers and basic practices for immediate
inclusion in the operational activities of the Air Weather Service. As
part of STANAG 6013, dedicated to the Meteorological Support for
NATO operations, it is represented by the need of the Member States,
in view of interoperability, using the Tactical Decision Aid's (TDA) as
tools for determining the meteorological impacts the standard
operations militari. it's defined and contained in the attached
document (AMETOCP-2) indicates the required skill for NATO's
operations and provides for the training of personnel for the above
TDA.
The course is for staff with a primary capacity of Technician or
Meteorologist Meteorologist and contributes to the training of the
staff allocated to the operational support to military operations.
