About Raindance Film Festival…
Raindance Film Festival….
• A Juicy Turkey…. Weaknesses and strengths?
• Making a Man…Weaknesses and strengths?
• Previous students work- what mistakes did they make? What will you avoid in your own work?
Making the Man- our feedback
Strengths WeaknessesMusic- mirrors the character of the man- nervous/jumpy/unsure
Plot- twist at end is effective/ clever/comical
Character of main man- engaging/believable
Repetition of script- a bit too long
Climax at end needs to come sooner
Acting of woman- not believable- too obvious she is acting
Camerawork could be too repetitive and unimaginative- long shot/close up/mid-shot
Similar to a scene in the theatre-too static
Juicy Turkey- our feedback
Strengths WeaknessesMise-en-scene- simplistic but effective
Story- typical situation everyone can relate to- engaging
Acting- realistic and believable- film would be awful without this
Camerawork- mirrored the action on the screen- stays static as woman realises her actions/ didn’t show dead baby-keeps you guessing
Hybrid genre of black comedy/drama/thriller- keeps audience guessing
Music-comical up beat, juxtaposed with the horrific scene unfolding
Hybrid of genres- not clear how audience should respond- could go wrong if done badly
Subtitles- confusing to audience- not clear who is speaking
Script- could be improved by setting up the relationship/ characters of the parents first
Plenary
