ADULT PARTICIPATION YORKSHIRE

Why Stop playing?

All CBs conducted an in depth investigation as to how much Adult cricket is taking place outside affiliated League cricket. The ECB then looked at the target areas for increasing Adult Participation.

•Attracting new adults who have never played or experienced cricket before (new)

•Attracting adult players who have stopped playing cricket (lapsed)

•Attracting existing adult players to play more frequently (conversion)

Yorkshire are responsible for 11% of that. “If we don’t hit the targets the country wont” Our target last year was to get 3567 more participants playing cricket. We hit 7055 of new players and current players increasing the frequency

Moving forward

From the challenges that we have highlighted, the ECB Whole Sport Plan will show a significant investment into Adult Participation.

60% of the ECB WSP will be based on player retention in clubs and in other forms of the game, but will also introduce a growth in participation in the 14-25 and wider adult population
