Before You Begin

If any of the above items are missing, please contact your reseller.

It’s best to use a computer (with an Ethernet adapter) that is connected to a switch forconfiguring the DWL-2100AP. The default IP address for the DWL-2100AP is192.168.0.50 with a Subnet Mask of 255.255.255.0. You will need to assign yourcomputer a Static IP address within the same range as the DWL-2100AP’s IP addressfor the purpose of configuring the DWL-2100AP. See the Appendix if you needassistance in assigning a Static IP address for your network adapter.

Using a power supply with a different voltagerating will damage and voidthe warranty of this product.

Using the Setup Wizard

Open your Webbrowser and type“http://192.168.0.50”into the URL addressbox. Then press theEnter or Return key.

The logon pop-upscreen will appear.

Type “admin” for theusername and leave thepassword field blank.

Click OK

When you have com-pleted the steps in thisQuick Installation Guide,your connected networkshould look similar tothis:

Once you havelogged in, the Homescreen will appear.

You will see thefollowing screens.

Click Run Wizard

Step 1 - Set up your newpassword. You have theoption to establish a password.

Step 2 - Wireless SetupThe default wirelesssettings are:SSID = defaultChannel = 6You can change thesesettings to match anexisting wireless network.

Step 3 - EncryptionThe DWL-2100AP is capable oftwo levels of wireless encryption64-bit and 128-bit. By defaultthe encryption is disabled.You can change the encryptionsettings for more securewireless communication.

AppendixTo assign a Static IP Address to the laptop or computer that you are using to configurethe DWL-2100AP, please do the following:

Assigning a Static IP Address in Windows

Go to Start > Double- click on ControlPanel > Double-click on NetworkConnections > Right-click on LocalArea Connections > Click Properties

Highlight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)

Click Properties

Select Use the following IP address inthe Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Propertieswindow

Click OK

Input your IP address and subnet mask.(The IP Address must be within the samerange as the DWL-2100AP. The IP Addressof the DWL-2100AP is 192.168.0.50. Youcan assign 192.168.0.51 for your computer.No two computers can have the same IPAddress. Assign a subnet mask of255.255.255.0.)
