A luminaire range in impeccable form
Good design is simple, clear and convincing. With its uniform style of design, the DL® 50 LED range of luminaires provides new options for urban lighting. The starting point is a housing concept featuring two construction sizes, with the design referencing the characteristic basic form of technical decorative road luminaires in a discreet but concise way.
The DL® 50 LED range provides planners with a luminaire family for highly diverse lighting tasks in the form of a post-top luminaire, side-entry luminaire and catenary luminaire, with light distribution characteristics for various standard applications, and three light colours. From historic plazas to new residential roads and from narrow paths in parks to multi-lane collection roads, this platform fulfils all typical photometric requirements.
Technologically, the DL® 50 LED makes full use of the benefits of innovative LED road luminaires – very high efficiency, a long lifespan and almost complete freedom from maintenance provide decisive cost advantages in the long run. Outstanding lighting technology also achieves qualitative and harmonious lighting results, and suitable controls enable further optimisations.

Ideas originating from a single cast
Convincing city marketing and good light belong together. A balanced sense of lighting has an inviting feel and increases the appeal of a location, strengthening its image for citizens, companies and visitors. Good lighting concepts are in this sense based on uniform overall appearances with homogeneous luminaire designs, harmonious illumination and coordinated light colours. This is achieved only by a holistically designed luminaire range such as the DL® 50 LED with diverse variants.
The basis for this is its modular, integrative concept, and the DL® 50 LED is not only available as a mast and catenary luminaire but also in the two mini and midi construction sizes. Different lumen packages can be also specifi ed.
Three light colours are available: warm white (3000 K) for example for plazas, parks, residential streets and paths, and neutral white and daylight white (4000 K or 5000 K) for roads with fl owing traffi c. The robust but simultaneously relatively lightweight construction simplifi es mounting and planning with catenary applications.

Perfect looks during the day and at nightLight and design point the way
DL® 50 LED | Design
Professional road lighting is a visitor's card for a town or city, indicating at the approaches to municipal areas the quality of complete urban lighting in the centre and residential districts.
The harmonious lighting results of the DL® 50 LED with soft transitions in brightness and without dark zones increases the quality of stay. A municipal lighting of this quality invites to linger on plazas, communicating a feeling of safety and facilitating orientation on roads and paths. It thus upgrades
the urban space, is able to improve the sense of well-being for residents and is perceived as a sign of genuine esteem.
The DL® 50 LED is an eye-catcher: its circular construction references familiar technical decorative luminaire designs and blends discreetly into various styles of architecture. Its low construction height and balanced proportions radiate a sense of elegance and high aesthetic quality, becoming particularly apparent when viewing a complete road section. The extensive modularity of the DL® 50 also enables the continuous and harmonious design of road appearances in all urban areas.

Always with a complete perspectivePremium lighting technology for greater safety and acceptance levels
Only LED luminaires with mature and sophisticated lighting technology prevent disturbing glare, whereas insuffi ciently glare-reduced luminaires are a nuisance for residents. Freely visible LEDs may dazzle car drivers and therefore be a safety risk. The DL® 50 LED offsets this risk with refl ector technology that sets standards – the 3-zone faceted refl ectors transform the high luminance values of the LEDs into highly homogeneous, standard-compliant illumination with fl owing
contrast transitions. Visual comfort and therefore the perception for identifying hazard situations is improved, and vehicle drivers gain a better overview of traffi c situations with more time to respond. Older traffi c participants in particular benefi t from this. The result is that the feeling of safety increases, as well as overall accept-ance for a new LED lighting system.

3-zone faceted refl ector light distribution
Far fi eld The central faceted refl ector guides most of the emitted light specifi cally into the far fi eld.
Central fi eld Light is emitted without defl ection and highly effi ciently directly from the luminaire. LEDs from typical observer positions cannot be seen. Direct glare is impossible.
Near fi eld The lateral faceted refl ector guides the light to the area di-rectly below the luminaire. The light distribution ensures best possible glare restriction.

Permanently good for the budgetA smart system saves energy and costs
Aesthetically ambitious urban lighting can also pay off. Thanks to premium components and an optimally coordinated system consisting of housing, LED light source, optics and electronic control, the DL® 50 LED achieves a luminaire luminous efficacy of up to 106 lumens per watt. The complete luminaire system has been designed totally for LED technology, and the tough but comparatively
lightweight luminaire body of diecast aluminium ensures optimal thermal surroundings for the LED modules. These are connected directly to the luminaire body via large contact surfaces, which in turn reliably dissipate the heat typical of LED technology. This concept ensures a long lifespan and further improves the efficiency of the complete system.
*Basis for calculation: 1 km carriageway, 28 light points, 4,000 operating hours/year, 0.20 euros per kW/hStatic cost comparison: Old system: HME 250 W (268 W), 4,000 hrs. with 100 %; new system: DL® 50 midi LED Plus, 1600 hrs. with 100 % = 89 W; 1400 hrs. reduced mode with 50 % = 40 W; 1000 hrs. reduced mode with 25 % = 21 W; amortisation of surplus investment costs after approx. 4.77 years; **Comparison of energy consumption: DL® 50 midi LED Plus (see above) with HST/HSE 150 W (161 W); 1600 hrs. with 100 % = 161 W; 2400 hrs. reduced mode with 50 % = 90 W
Total cost analysis verifies long-term savings*
A clear advantage for LED – with a total consideration of investment, operating and maintenance costs over the complete service life of the luminaire, the DL® 50 LED is clearly ahead of its time. The higher investment costs can be amortised after only 4.77 years, with consideration of reduced mode, compared to obsolete HME luminaires.

Image-enhancing. Municipalities set a clear signal with high-quality LED road lighting:
"We save energy and contribute to environmental protection."
Above: DL® 50 midi LED, side-entry luminaire with supplementary bracket, 4000 K
DL® 50 LED – efficiency factors
— High energy efficiency: very low consump-tion values cut power overheads by up to 80%
— Optimised maintenance: assembled electronic components remain on the mast for approximately 20 to 25 years with typical use, and without major maintenance work. Rated service life up to 100,000 h (L90/B10)
— Simplified stock-keeping: Post-top or side-entry elements are suitable for both luminaire housing construction sizes. Stock-keeping costs are cut.
LED is clearly more efficient than HST/HSE**
The DL® 50 LED also represents the better alternative compared to lower-cost HST/HSE luminaires in terms of purchase price. Customers benefit from significantly reduced long-term energy consumption and lower operating costs (no more relamping), even if HST/HSE luminaires are operated in reduced mode. A further plus with LED solutions: control options that in the future will become ever more important are already completely integrated in accordance with customer specifications.

DL® 50 LED | Control
More comfort and new ideasIntelligent control improves the quality of life
In cars, ABS, ESP and dynamic headlighting provide improved safety, and the intelligent control of heating, blinds, lighting and air-conditioning improves the living quality in new buildings. With the DL® 50 LED, intelligent control electronics ensure that precisely the right quantity of light is emitted to the specific target at the right time, in turn improving energy efficiency and the quality of life in public spaces.
DL® 50 LED luminaires completely exploit the potential of mature LED technology. Thanks to intelligent control, luminaires can be set individually or as groups for specific lighting tasks, and dimming values and durations can be
specified, meaning operation is according to requirements and with optimised energy consumption.
Intelligent light management improves the level of comfort in public spaces and represents a positive location factor for competing municipalities – inner city areas that have a gastronomic flair are transformed into oases of well-being thanks to inviting light. Sightseeing attractions highlighted with light are harmoniously emphasised because wide-area and road lighting systems are matched accordingly.Residential areas also radiate a high quality of life, because residents are aware during the day and night that they are in surroundings worth living in.

DL® 50 LED | Smart City
DL® 50 LED for smart citiesInternet access via luminaires
WLAN in public spaces is no longer just a distant reality and primarily no longer a mammoth infrastructure project. This growing desire of politicians, companies and residents can become reality – with the Street Light Control (SLC) light management system, a component of the DL® 50 LED Premium functional package.
The new generation of the SLC system wirelessly connects luminaires via radio in a network, based on the new, future-fit IP V6 network standard. Information is transmitted from light head to light head and communicated with a router via internet to the central control point. The system has sufficient flexibility to intelligently search for another path in a self-healing way if a unit fails.
This radio network is available everywhere where luminaires are located, and has the capability to become the back-bone for completely new smart city services – on the one hand for wide-area information network structures in towns and cities, and on the other for new sensor-supported services, used for example to register free parking lots or measure traffic density levels, navigating drivers to parking spots and guiding complete traffic flows through urban areas. Municipal services can also be connected up to the system, for example when sensors communicate the filling states of garbage containers. Appealing technical options also become available for advertisers with the supply of real-time information to displays.

Intelligent details simplify mounting
DL® 50 LED | Mounting
Nothing’s simpler for installers
Why make it complicated when it could be easy?Mounting all DL® 50 LED variants is child's play – the mast luminaires are equipped with a fl exible power cable that only needs to be lowered vertically within the mast, and catenary luminaires feature an external plug connector for especially quick installation. Mast fi xing is also smart, with one connection for post-top mounting and one for sideentry, suitable for mini and midi – a visually uniform design, tech-nically convincing and with very simple handling.
Siteco's renowned material and engineering quality is alsoa matter of course. The cable outlet and inclination angle adjuster are located internally, and the cover of the specifi c mast element is opened and closed via a single screw.
A further benefi t is that luminaires and connections are delivered separately, making ordering easier and reducing levels of stock. 60/42 mm or 76/60 mm reducers facilitate variable use.

Integrative. The DL® 50 LED with its timeless design also blends harmoniously into heritage
architectural surroundings, highlighting the uniqueness of streets and plazas.
Above: DL® 50 midi LED catenary luminaire, 3000 K
Only high quality electronic components and perfectly manufactured materials are used in the DL® 50 LED. The luminaire housing, as with the post-top and side-entry mast mounting elements, is of diecast aluminium. The smooth surface with a weather-resistant powder coating in Siteco® grey metallic (DB 702S) has a self-cleaning effect, and the lower edge of the luminaire housing protrudes over the optical enclosure by a few millimetres to form a drip edge. While relamping is needed every three to six years with conventional luminaires, the LED module of the DL® 50 LED has been designed for a lifespan of 22 to 25 years under
typical use. The housing itself can be used far longer than 25 years and can remain on the mast. The ECG and LED module are replaced with ease thanks to the modular design and reliable gear tray technology, this sustainable design concept therefore enabling upgrades to future, higher-performance LED modules. In addition, simple refurbishment is also possible with modified photometric requirements at a particular location – for example due to building modifications.
DL® 50 LED | Maintenance

17
DL® 50 LED | Maintenance
DL® 50 LED – future-fit at a completely new level
Luminaires equipped with the Plus and Premium control packages simplify the reordering of suitable LED modules and ECGs, and also adopt previous luminaire settings.
— Electronic type plate: this component saves type information, individual settings, and power and operating data of the LED module.
— Automatic data exchange: an automatic exchange of data for power adaption purposes is implemented between the LED module and ECG. If for example more efficient components from newer generations are installed, previous luminaire settings, e.g. dimming levels, remain.
The appearance of the lighting installation also stays the same.
Convenient. The plug connector located on
top of the catenary luminaire enables highly
rapid luminaire replacements, and traffic
disturbances due to such work are significantly
reduced.
DL® 50 LED – a design that protects resources
If the LED module or gear tray is replaced, 90% of the luminaire is maintained. The gear tray is replaced simply and safely, and maintenance on the mast during ECG replacement is also possible.
Protected. The optical enclosure of toughened safety glass is fixed to the luminaire with an
internal hinge, thereby protecting the hinge from soiling and the adverse effects of weather.
All-round sealing protects the luminaire interior against the ingress of water and dirt particles.
