A British inventor called, Alexander Graham Bell, was famous. He invented the first

telephone.

His childhood

Alexander Graham Bell was born on the third of March 1847 in the capital of Scotland, Edinburgh. As

a young boy, he played his piano to his deaf mother. His father taught deaf people to speak. On his eleventh birthday, as his birthday present , he chose his middle name as Graham. Like his two

brothers.

His job and his moveWhen he was twenty – three , Bell and his

parents moved to Canada. That’s where he invented lots of things including the metal

detector. He became a inventor and an engineer.

Who’s the patent? And his successBell had an idea about people with no contact with other

people? He decided to invent the telephone. However, he heard that Elisha Gray wanted to beat Bell. Alexander and

Elisha went to the patent office at the same day! Elisha was explaing but it wasn’t enough. That’s why Alexander was

awarded the patent. At the end , Alexander spilt acid (which is poisonous) burned his trousers. After his invention , he

started a telephone company. Graham improved his design ; by 1886 one hundred and fifty thousand people had

telephones in their houses . On the 15th January1915 he did the 1st transcontinental call from New York to San Francisco .

His death.Eventually, he died 2/8/1922 at the age of

seventy-five because of diabetes.
