A number of information al documents and pamphlets addressing specific requirements and services have been developed and are being used by the Executive Director and staff when in the field. These site visits were recently used to also explain the self‐assessment tool that was being distributed as a pilot project of CLEAR. This education is on‐going. We have received numerous comments from agencies that have been inspected about how helpful the process is and how much is learned from the Field Reps when they conduct these. At the November 5, 2014 meeting staff present to the Commission the Mental Health Response Curriculum for adoption as an advisory in‐service training standard. It was adopted by the Commission. Dave Harvey received a thank you letter on the good work from Senator Bruce Caswell who had requested we look into this.

The Executive Director and the Field Reps attend these routinely. Dave Harvey just attended one at Madonna. Dave Harvey has spoken with two recruiting offices one in SE Michigan and one in the NW about the MP Program. Dave has also attended 3 events held by the military to assist in transitioning returning vets into civilian life. MITN training has been expanded into regional sessions scheduled around the state to meet the demand in these various areas. The MJTF award workshops have also been regionalized for 2015. The regionalizing of the application workshops will have to wait for the new business model the Commission is working on to address the lack of grant funds for 2016.

Part one of this initiative began with a review of existing data and a discussion with the training directors at the April 2014 Training Directors Conference. This effort was delayed due to the need to reassign the staff to the pilot project on behalf of CLEAR. This will resume upon completion of the CLEAR project.

The Executive director has met with law enforcement administrators across the state to discuss the purpose of this best practice initiative. It has been positively received. The pilot testing of an agency assessment tool has been completed. The Executive Director reported the results back to CLEAR which has given no further input. At the November 5, 2014 the Commission adopted the Mental Health Response Curriculum as an advisory in‐service training standard. The Field Representatives are contacting individual agencies to conduct a pilot of the self‐assessment which will then be followed by face‐to‐face discussions.
