Overall, I like my assessment tool. There are areas that appeared repetitive when using it to evaluatean actual lesson, such as the objectives and guidelines. These two things can be similar. Also, there aremultiple areas to assess technology use. I am also debating keeping the engagement opportunities andthe collaboration areas separate--they also seemed to mesh when I used the evaluation tool, despite mythinking when I created it.
Plagiarism in groups Lesson
1. Yes, the strategy was appropriate for the content/material. However, everything that was donecould have been facilitated asynchronously.
2. Yes, I believe other strategies would have been more effective if completed synchronously. Theinstructor could have had the students develop definitions as a class in groups synchronously ordone through polls or breakout groups. This could also have been through a defined activity, like a think, pair, share or jigsaw activity. I thought the research component was important;however, assigning the research assignment did not need to be done synchronously. The
instructor could have given the research assignment and then asked students to present togroups synchronously at another time or post on the whiteboard, maybe 3 facts they foundduring their researched. This could have led to a discussion, which also could have beencompleted asynchronously.
3. As I mentioned in number two, there are alternative strategies that may have been moreeffective for this lesson. Not only would a think, pair, share or jigsaw activity be relevant andengaging, it would allow for greater community building and collaboration.
I found it very hard to grade this lessonas it was a lesson on how the instructor would give a lesson onplagiarism. Therefore, it was missing a lot of the information I was looking for with my evaluation tool. Iwould have given this presentation a 22/45.
Icebreaker Activity Lesson
1. Yes, the strategy was appropriate. The instructor allowed everyone to participate in breakoutsessions and with poll questions. I thought the lesson was very scattered and not well rehearsed. Theentire lesson revolved around using adobe connect tools so it had to be completed synchronously
2. Yes, there could have been other strategies employed. The instructor could have developed questionsfor each of the breakout rooms so they had something to discuss while in each room. Icebreakers do
not need to be done synchronously; however, I do feel like synchronous delivery helps promotecommunity building more so than asynchronous delivery.
3. I think a jigsaw activity would have been a great way for students to learn about each other andbecome familiar with the adobe connect tools. With a jigsaw activity, one expert would have to move toa different breakout room and share about the other people they have metthis could be through use

of the whiteboard or chat or audio. Students could have also personalized the activity more by drawinga introduction to who there are.
Again, I found this difficult to evaluate because it was a lesson on a future lesson to be used. This onewas also on how to use the tools I gave this lesson a 32/45. It did an excellent job using the various
online tools available but the instructor seemed unprepared and unknowledgeable with adobeconnectthus got docked a few points on my evaluation.
