King of Warriors

The Romans had been fighting the Gauls — the continental Celts in present-day France — for several years. Most of Gaul was under Roman control. 

Vercingetorix (72–46 BCE; appropriately, his name means ‘king of the warriors’) was very unhappy with the situation and the Romans would soon have to deal with this rebel.

King Vercingetorix Vercingetorix came to power in 52 BC, when he

raised an army and was proclaimed king at Gergovia.

He soon established an alliance with other tribes and took control of their armies, leading them in Gaul's most significant revolt against Roman power.

Vercingetorix surrendered to the Romans after being defeated at the Battle of Alesia in 52 BC, after which he was imprisoned for five years.

In 46 he was paraded through Rome as part of Caesar's triumph before being executed.

Queen Boudicca

She was the queen of the British Iceni tribe who led an uprising against the occupying forces of the Roman Empire.

The Queen’s Uprising Boudicca's husband Prasutagus, ruler of the Iceni tribe, who had ruled as an independent ally of Rome, left his kingdom jointly to his daughters and the Roman Emperor (Nero) in his will. However, when he died, his will was ignored —the kingdom was annexed as if conquered, Boudicca was flogged, her daughters were raped, and Roman financiers called in their loans.So she lead a revolt against the Roman Empire.Roman forces from Britain eventually were victorious over Boudicca.Boudicca then either killed herself, so she would not be captured, or fell ill and died.

Kriemhilde’s RevengeShe marries Attila in one historical account and kills him in revenge for the death of her former husband on their wedding night.Her name means ‘armored warrior woman’ and the English word Grim derives from her name too.In her earliest legends she was originally a daemonic mythical figure representing darkness and death.

Instead of coming at it in a direct way, she was subtle. Even fooling Attila into thinking she was willing to be his wife. She never let

him know her intent. She represents the power of subtlety and intent.
